What Democrat is the best candidate?

Frankly, it's scary that they can't find anyone to run who has "decency" attached to their name. Really, Joe Biden who has scared off children and women by sniffing them and putting his hands on them when not invited? And Elizabeth Warren...who lied about her heritage to get herself up the ladder of success? And then they give us Bernie. He who preaches "spread the wealth" among all of us. But not, apparently, to him. In fact, it only applies to Republicans. He just purchased his third amazingly beautiful home. And AOC who preaches the same thing "spread the wealth" wants a pay raise because she's now a member of Congress and has contributed so much (media attention???) in just a few months. WHO asks for a raise during their first year of employment? She needs an lesson on who her employers are.....it is us!

Democrat Andrew Young is the most reasonable of the Democratic candidates running in 2020...

https://www.yang2020.com/policies/

He's still a Bleeding Heart Liberal wanting higher taxes to pay for all the freebies he wants to give out.

Socialism discourages Incentive. Why should they labor at work when everything they need is Free and they can always c***t the System with the extra cash they aren't reporting.

Trump in 2020...

The candidates that you mention are all ones that I would not support. And while it will probably be true that the party will not nominate, as you state "anyone decent", it is not true that there is not a decent announced candidate running for president in the Democratic Party.

The Democratic establishment, and the media in general, is trying awfully hard to ignore, and marginalize Tulsi Gabbard. She is an avowed anti-war candidate, and the establishment is trying desperately hard to paint her as a Putin apologist, and Assad toady! That should immediately alert you that maybe this is a candidate that you should investigate further.

While I do not agree with all of Gabbard's positions (it is virtually impossible for any one candidate to meet everyone's expectations), I agree with enough of hers to consider her a decent and viable candidate.

Consider her following positions:

1. Campaign Finance Reform

Key points:
The Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision opened the floodgates of “dark money” into politics, tainting the integrity of our democracy. She supports the following positions:

- Get Super PAC money out of our e******ns and limit campaign contributions so the wealthy don’t have an unfair advantage over our e*******l process. She is a PAC free candidate.

- Limit “dark money” by forcing t***sparency of outside groups, corporations, and wealthy donors
Enforce and prosecute violations of campaign laws

-Empower v**ers’ influence through a matching program where small donations are matched by government funds. Tulsi is a PAC free candidate who takes only individual contributions to fund her campaigns. She is a co-sponser of H.R.20 - Government By the People Act of 2017

2. Support for Service Veterans - She introduced H.R. 5671 - Burn Pits Accountability Act, a bipartisan bill, to evaluate exposure to open burn pits and toxic airborne chemicals, and begin the process of ensuring proper care and services for the nation’s servicemembers and veterans

3. She is a strong supporter of American's Civil Liberties as evidenced below:

-H.R. 3178 Strengthening Privacy, Oversight, and T***sparency (SPOT) Act - In a continued effort to significantly improve the oversight and accountability of the nation’s intelligence community, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR.), and Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) reintroduced a bipartisan, bicameral bill to strengthen the independent Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board.

- H.R. 699 Email Privacy Act - The Congresswoman was an original cosponsor of the bil to make much needed and long overdue updates our online privacy law

- H.R 4124 USA RIGHTS amendment - Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02), was a founding member of the Congressional Fourth Amendment Caucus, and joined a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers in introducing the USA RIGHTS amendment to protect the privacy of Americans’ communications. The amendment would reform Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to end warrantless backdoor searches of Americans' calls, emails, texts and other communications that are swept up under a program designed to spy on foreign targets. The amendment mirrors Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s Preventing Unconstitutional Collection Act (H.R.2588) introduced last year, and also includes provisions of Gabbard’s SPOT Act. It is supported by the ACLU, FreedomWorks, NAACP, Campaign for Liberty, and others.

- She v**ed against legislation to reauthorize the warrantless collection of Americans' calls, emails, texts and other communications under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act

4. She is a strong supporter of Criminal Justice Reform and v**ed for the following legislation:

-H.R. 5682 FIRST STEP Act
-H.R. 4261 SAFE Justice Act
-H.R. 3713 Sentencing Reform Act of 2015
-H.R. 920 Smarter Sentencing Act
-H.R. 1854 Comprehensive Justice and Mental Health Act
-H.R. 1809 Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act

5. She has a strong record of opposing and combating Sex Trafficking

-H.R. 459 Trafficking Survivors Relief Act
-H.R. 1862 Global Child Protection Act
-H.R. 1842 Strengthening Children's Safety Act of 2017
-H.R. 1188 Adam Walsh Reauthorization Act of 2017
-H.R. 883 Targeting Child Predators Act of 2017
-H.R. 1625 TARGET Act

6. She is the leading voice in Congress (along with Rand Paul) calling for an end America's interventionist wars of regime change that have cost our nation trillions of dollars and thousands of lives, simultaneously creating more devastation, human suffering and refugees in the countries where U.S. regime change war is waged. She either sponsored, co-sponsered, or v**ed for the following:

H.R. 608 Stop Arming Terrorists Act- Legislation that serves to galvanize the anti-war movement and the opposition to regime change policies that characterize our present foreign policy

H.Amdt.636 to H.R.5515: This amendment to bill H.R.5515 removes the clause which allows the US military to go to war without Congressional approval and only provide an after-the-fact report on the operation.

H.R. 4108 - To prohibit the use of funds for the provision of assistance to Syrian opposition groups and individuals: This bill would prohibit the US from continuing to provide support in any form to any group involved in the o*******w of the Syrian government.

H.R. 1735 - Including the amendment, Section 1045, Limitations on Interrogation Techniques, banning torture and "enhanced interrogations"

H.R.1004 — To prohibit the introduction of United States Armed Forces into hostilities with respect to Venezuela, and for other purposes.

Are these positions with which you agree? What other politicians running for office in the Democratic Party can match this proven track record?

Sure, I disagree with her on her support for more gun control laws, and relaxing of our immigration policies, but all the other Democratic candidates have the same positions. So in short, she in my opinion, is the best of the bunch.
