“Pal” was figurative and a conversational convention. I don’t think I’d want any dealings with you, considering the dubious quality of your postings.

I was just questioning the wording is all, punkin.

And feel free to unfriend me at any time. I prefer to hang out with men.

That Of Course, Is Impossible
There Were Not 3,000 First Responders On The Scene

I don't know the exact first responder count... I do know that the USCG requested that all vessels able to assist in the evacuation of all of lower Manhattan do so ASAP... almost 1 million people were evacuated by water on 911 by commercial & pleasure boats … and they all volunteered... acts like this is why we're great … now go eat your silly MAGA hat & learn how to take care of our own …

When You Paint 'First Responder'
With The Broadest Brush Imaginable
And That Couldn't Be What Stewart Meant
Because Where Are The 1 Million Evacuees
Bodies All Piling Up In Heaps

Yes, That Is What Makes Us Great

Having said that I agree with Jon Stewart on this. Shame on Congress for basically giving them the finger

This isn't straight forward enough ... almost 1 million people were evacuated by water on 911 by commercial & pleasure boats … the dust hadn't even settled yet...

So Where Are All Those Evacuee's Bodies Piling Up ??
They Would Have Had It Worse Than Those That Came

AS Jon Stewart said, soon the deaths of first responders will surpass those who died in the WTC.

Indeed. War, and that's what it was, puts horrific amounts of toxins, irritants, particulates, etc. on top of the greenhouse gasses, pestilence and poverty.

The people you so vociferously support, as we all have for the last 40 years, are being PAID off by the .01 percenters to start WWIII. Bush, Klinton, Bush, Obama were all fking warmongering g*******t middle managers. Thank God Klinton didn't win! We'd be in a nuclear war with Russia already!

The .01 percenter's biggest source of power, fiat currency, needs a war to reset as it has twice already since we imported this curse from Europe...and they think there are far too many of us anyway. They fear us finding out what they've actually been doing. And now they are under pressure from 2 directions; they still need that war and they know that more of us are aware of them.

Having ties with someone isn't the same as being one of them. I may rent a room at my hotel to a gangbanger but that doesn't make me one. I may sell gas to a Hell's Angel but I'm not a Hell's Angel. I may even make a wedding cake for a homosexual but that doesn't make me homosexual.

Trump isn't one of them. He's had lots of contacts with them and among them. That's just the unavoidable reality of business.

You used to h**e "conservatives" like Paul Ryan, George Bush etc.

Funny, we h**e them now and you love them. We humiliated Jeb. Dynasties are a terrible idea.

Jon Stewart Rips Congress During House Hearing on 9/11 Victims Fund, Gets Standing Ovation

By Justin Baragona

Jon Stewart gave Congress an earful on Tuesday, blasting a House Judiciary subcommittee for its seeming indifference towards the plight of 9/11 first responders as he testified on their behalf for the extension of the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund.

The former Daily Show host has long been frustrated with the constant fights on Capitol Hill to provide additional funding to the victims’ fund, letting that frustration boil over during Tuesday’s hearing, which was attended by only five members.

I can’t help but think what an incredible metaphor this room is for the entire process that getting health care and benefits for 9/11 first responders has come to,” Stewart bemoaned. “Behind me, a filled room of 9/11 first responders and in front of me, a nearly empty Congress."

“Sick and dying, they brought themselves down here to speak—to no one. Shameful. It is an embarrassment to the country and it is a stain on this institution."

Adding that members of the House should be embarrassed for themselves but won’t be, the comedian noted: "Accountability doesn’t appear to be something that occurs in this chamber.”

After mentioning some of the ailing first responders who had traveled to Washington to speak at the hearing and highlighting the sacrifices hundreds made during the terror attacks, Stewart got extremely emotional, needing a few moments to compose himself. “I'm sorry if I sound angry and undiplomatic, but I am angry, and you should be too, and they’re all angry as well,” he declared.

"Your indifference cost these men and women their most valuable commodity: Time,” Stewart exclaimed. “It's the one thing they're running out of."

Assailing the deal-making in Congress that will cause funding bills to be tied to other pet projects and spending requests, Stewart applauded the first responders who have kept fighting to make sure the victims’ fund won’t run out.

“Thank God for all of these people who will not let it happen,” he emphasized. “They responded in five seconds. They did their jobs with courage, grace, tenacity, humility! 18 years later—do yours!”

Finishing on that note, the 9/11 first responders in the chambers immediately stood up and gave Stewart a standing ovation.

I can't believe we finally agree about something both sides should support. They need to cut some of their give away programs and us the funds to take care of these people who deserve it.

WTF are you talking about bodies pilling up ?... the Evacuee's were alive at the time who knows where they are now... and yes there would have been many more deaths if they weren't selflessly evacuated by volunteers … what part is confusing ? … the Feds asked for help...

Well, If Your Definition Of First Responders
Are Having It So Bad, As Jon Stewart Says
Then Wouldn't 1 Million Evacuees That Were There
When It Happened
Be At Least As Sick And Disabled
As Those That Massed To Save Them Later
Can Your Mind Grasp That ??
I Don't Know How To Express It Any More Clear

Do You Have Stats On The Illness And Disabilities
Of Civilians That Answered The Call After The Fact ??
No ??

Have You Lost Track Of Jon Stewart's Quote ??
According To kemmer:
Stewart Says More First Responders
Will Die Than Victims Of The Attacks
-- Impossible, No Matter How You Parse It
Your Rescuers Are Not 'First Responders' By Any Stretch Of The Definition

You're Trying To Force Some Kind Of Point That Just Isn't There
You're Not Even Following The Conversation

My definition of 'first responder' is those that responded to help others on 911... not too hard to grasp is it … don't know how many there were or the total number of deaths... same for the people evacuated who got sick & died … what do you call people who helped in saving others on 911 ? …

First Responders As Everyone Understands It
....Except YOU
Will Die Of Sickness And Disability
Than Victims Of The Attack
And That's A Pile Of Bulls**t Too

Let's See Some Stats
ANY Of You, Stewart Too
Show The Data

Also Show How It's The National Taxpayer's Further Responsibility
When Charities Collected Over $10 Billion Dollars For 9/11 Victims
