Barack Obama spent eight years in office trying to tear down America.

But even after leaving office, Obama never gave up on trying to impose his anti-American agenda and undermining President Trump.

But now this injured war hero just shut down Barack Obama’s biggest lie about America.

Gun-grabbers like Barack Obama and his allies in the so-called “mainstream” media secretly love mass shootings.

Times of terrible tragedy allow gun-grabbers to seize the upper hand in the debate over the Second Amendment.

The more blood madmen spill, the more powerful the emotional blackmail the gun-grabbers use to try and erode fundamental American freedoms.

And Obama pounced on the recent mass shooting in Virginia where a deranged government employee k**led 11 innocent victims.

The former President attacked America on foreign soil by falsely claiming that anyone can buy a machine gun over the counter or through the mail during a speech at the VTEX Day conference in Brazil.

“Some of you may be aware, our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon, any time without much, if any, regulation,” Obama exclaimed.

“They buy it over the internet. They can buy machine guns.”

This is a lie.

And Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw – who lost an eye serving as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan – called Obama out for this despicable falsehood.

“Why is Obama so boldly lying about US gun laws? No, not anyone can buy a “machine gun” anytime. I notice, over and over, that left-wing politicians have to lie about the premise of an issue in order to bolster their case for government intervention. It poisons public debate,” Crenshaw tweeted.

Americans cannot simply purchase a machine gun over the counter or through the mail.

Machine guns were severely restricted with the 1934 National Firearms Act.

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed the Firearms Owner Protection Act into law and allowed for the sale of automatic weapons provided they were produced prior to 1986.

But the process of purchasing an automatic weapon is highly restrictive and expensive.

To purchase an automatic weapon, a prospective buyer must be fingerprinted and submit to a 12-page background check document.

This is above and beyond a normal firearms background check.

The t***saction must also be registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

In addition, someone wanting to purchase an automatic weapon must find a specially licensed dealer.

The dealer must not only have a Federal Firearms License, but must be classified as a class three dealer having earned the Federal Firearms License/Special Occupancy Tax designation.

That entails a dealer paying fees and submitting to background checks.

Finally, automatic weapons are rare and expensive.

Because there are fewer than 500,000 automatic weapons in circulation, they can cost up to $20,000.

All these hurdles means it can take up to a year to have the sale of an automatic weapon approved.

Only citizens with the money and a squeaky clean record can purchase an automatic weapon.

But facts and t***h never mattered much to Barack Obama and the gun-grabbers.

The gun store in my home town had a large photograph of Obama prominently displayed
with the caption. Our Top Gun Salesman. The guy said the more Obama talked about
guns, the faster the guns and ammo flew off the shelf.

Read an article, I believe it was by Victor Davis Hanson but I'm not sure. It pointed out the availability of guns has been a part of America for over two hundred years. Mass shootings didn't start until the 1960s though. In the 1950s there was only 1 mass shooting, move forward a few decades and the numbers rise greatly, by the '90s there were 42, and the numbers increased thereafter. This article pointed to gun violence is a direct result of the assault and decline of religion, the decline of marriage, the lack of male role models for boys and young men, and the left's grievance industry. Those are the changes that have resulted in the gun violence we see now. As the left destroyed the family and rotted out our culture, gun violence increased, (and gun laws and gun free zones increased as well.)
