Why NBC got rid of Jay Leno

Comedy seems to be in the eye of the beholder


News leaked out from Hollywood executives that the Obama White House had been pressuring executives at NBC for over two years to replace Jay Leno because the comedian was criticizing Obama almost every night. Obama didn't like it and considered it a 'r****t attack' on him.

After data came to light that $100's of millions had been spent on First Family vacations during a recession, Mrs. Obama's unpopular new laws that changed food in America's schools and other negative news including the disastrous Obamacare roll-out & website mess, Jay Leno took his comedy to a new level and his ratings skyrocketed - none of the other comics dared to be so bold.

NBC couldn't stomach the fact that Leno's jokes about Obama were always right on target about the first black president and left-leaning Democrat executives at NBC were being harassed by Obama himself.

Every one of the quotations above was delivered on air by Jay Leno.

Since they signed a contract with Conan O'Brien in 2004 to host come the end of Jay Leno's contract, well BEFORE Obama became president in 2009... You are aware that the Tonight Show changed hosts on June 1, 2009 correct? Conan O'Brien took it over but when he discovered that they intended to move the show to a later time slot to accommodate a new show called "The Jay Leno Show", a 1 hour show they intended to slide in at 23:00 EST, sliding "The Tonight Show" from 23:35 to 00:05 EST, he threw a fit and wanted out of his contract. Jay Leno took the show back until Jimmy Fallon took over on February 17, 2014. IF you were correct about Obama having something to do with it, why would they give Leno another show to bash Obama with and then later, they bring Leno back to "The Tonight Show". That doesn't make much sense does it? Perhaps you mean that Obama waited until 2014 to push for his firing. To that I say, if Leno wanted to stay, why did he try to leave back in 2009? He only came back as they NEEDED someone fast.

You theory makes no sense at all. What makes more sense is that he wanted out in 2009, O'Brien threw a fit about getting slid back half an hour and bailed, Leno pretty much had to come back short term until they could line up a replacement. Obama had NOTHING to do with it. Of course I am sure they could have arranged for Fallon to t***sfer his "Late Show" contract to a "Tonight Show" contract and just find someone to fill in on the "Late Show" since both shows are on same network, but they did things the way they did things.
