There is a tremendous difference of condoning murder of innocents than of putting to death criminals who have taken the life of others in committing crimes. One can look at premeditated k*****g as premeditated k*****g, regardless of the circumstances as well, this is true. One must also consider the fact that although rare in most cases, innocent people have been put to death for a crime they have not committed. There is also those occasions where someone that did commit a k*****g, received an unwarranted death sentence they did not deserve due to the circumstances surrounding the k*****g. Not EVERYONE put to death has been deserving of it. What can we say to those persons? Oops, our bad, sorry you got screwed?

Many loved ones choose forgiveness towards those that have k**led or murdered their loved ones, much like Christ tells Christians to do, though I won't ask for you to "get saved". Forgiveness isn't even restricted to the Christians either, many muslims, jews, those of the many vast religions and even those with no religious beliefs have chosen to forgive. Much can be said FOR the death penalty as well, some can NOT be redeemed nor rehabilitated and those should NEVER be released from prison. Keeping them in prison costs money and therefore capital punishment is a valid cost saving method. But then I don't claim to be pro-life either.
Edit: Christ preached forgiveness, not specifically to forgive k**lers or murderers specifically. Figured I had better specify that before someone tries to take that comment out of context.
