Trump says hiding the McCain ship was "well-meaning" because somebody knew he didn't like him. How perfectly petty and base of him.

Can you see how terrible the president's response is to that action? Try to consider a few things before you squeal I am just a h**er because Clinton lost and that is why this post. Or much ado about nothing because he seems to have not directly ordered it. Or all your other defensive strategies you deploy to cover for his ugliness. His comment is contemptible and the fact this happened a shocking and tragic comment on the state of the union.

First is the fact that the ship is named not for his nemesis but two admirals, John S. McCain Sr. and John S. McCain Jr., that served admirably. Putting them out of sight because of Trump's animus for a relative is essentially an attack on the family name and their honor. Saying this is somehow "well-meaning" is sickening.

Second and far worse is the fact that without apparently p**********l order, the WH and Navy would agree to basically a vendetta against McCain to please the president. This is how one scores points in a dictatorship, and that is just a fact. Saying this is somehow "well-meaning" is sickening.

Third, any decent leader would be appalled by such action taken by subordinates without it being sanctioned. Such unilateral action against a former senator should have quickly been condemned. It sends a very bad message to those in the service and the public that those who the president dislikes can face retaliation by the government. Saying this is somehow "well-meaning" is sickening.

Fourth, try to grasp this. Mulvaney said, “The fact that some 23- or 24-year-old person on the advance team went to that site and said ‘Oh my goodness, there’s the John McCain, we all know how the president feels about the former senator, maybe that’s not the best backdrop, can somebody look into moving it?’ That’s not an unreasonable thing to ask.”
Problem: that is a highly unreasonable and noxious thing to ask. This shows the moral bankruptcy of this administration. Minions of dictators go to these absurd and foul lengths. A decent staff under decent leadership would not do such a thing. Saying this is somehow "well-meaning" is sickening.

Fifth, it does not matter if some slavish "23- or 24-year-old person" took it on him- or herself to ingratiate him- or herself by making this suggestion to appease the president's known and documented vindictive nature. Has zero to do with the stark and d********g fact that Trump called such a reprehensible display of WH overreach as "well-meaning."

Sadly and unfortunately, this whole incident is unsurprising but typical of fawning sycophants.

I don't know what all those fancy words mean but I'm sure they are against Trump.

So true. What will eventually irk me no end is that most on the Right will not see how egregious was the comment "well-meaning." It is utterly deplorable and very sad and speaks volumes about Trump's soulless character. They will make not even make it an oops. Our country is in very serious trouble with these Trump supporters.

Every time trump hears his name it reminds him of his cowardice in paying a Dr to keep him out of the military. I have always wondered if he ever thinks of the guy that went in his place weather he survived or died in combat ,my guess is no because he really don't give a s**t about anyone but himself.

John McCain wasn't fit to lick Trump's ass. Vietnam t*****r, made video / audio propaganda for the NVA, k**led all possibility of bringing home any straggler captives by his actions in the Senate, and that is just the beginning of the charges that should have been made against the Admiral's baby boy.

I realize you clowns are desperately seeking ways to vilify Donald Trump but you really ought to know what the Hell you're talking about before mouthing off.

Kevyn, wasn’t President Trump that put a P**********l plane @ the McCain Family’s use? Wasn’t it McCain’s pettiness that started this ballyhoo? Did you not hear his Clintonesque remarks about his running mate costing him the e******n?

If he was a hero for being captured, there are a helluva lot more POW’s who deserve bigger state funerals than the narcissistic one he planned for himself, like the ones whose families gave up & moved on because they did not have the info McCain’s family had access to.

I am assuming you think trashing a wife who waited for him because she did not fit into his grandiose plans for himself was heroic.

There are gestures and acts from others, maybe on first introduction or a short time and not very obvious, that most sane and decent man can clearly perceive a malevolent heart. They know what evil lurks in that person. Yet others do not have such discernment for wh**ever reason. Like Trump followers. His "well-meaning" statement is a total expose of his lack of decency, honor, and character. Not having the eyes to see, you will mistakenly take that as a "drama queen" sentiment. But those two words show him to be without a moral compass.
