Democratic Mayor Orders We Build the Wall to Stop Construction
By BarbWire - May 31, 2019

It has always amazed me how any government agency or entity has the authority to tell private landowners what they can and cannot do on their own land.

I understand that there are rules to prevent the construction of anything dangerous, but building the 18-foot-tall border wall is far from a dangerous form of construction.

However, that hasn’t stopped Sunland Park, New Mexico, Mayor Javier Perea, a Democrat) from ordering the private group We Build the Wall, to cease and desist all construction of the border wall being built on private land.

The land is owned by American Eagle Brick Co., which lies along the US-Mexico border just west of El Paso, Texas in New Mexico.

The American Mirror – NM mayor halts construction of private border wall — claims violates local laws – Javier Perea, mayor of Sunland Park, New Mexico, is forcing private landowners to halt construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, alleging the project lacked the proper government approvals.

Sunland Park issued a cease-and-desist letter Tuesday to halt the construction of a large border wall on private property owned by the American Eagle Brick Co. outside of El Paso, near the University of Texas at El Paso, the Texas Tribune reports.

The $6 million to $8 million project began late Friday, continued through the Memorial Day weekend, and was expected to be completed later this week. The private project is funded through a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than $20 million for We Build the Wall, a nonprofit working with Border Patrol to erect barriers in high traffic areas along the border.

“On Thursday, we were denied entry to the location and then, on Friday, the owner of the property did come to the city of Sunland Park and submitted an application for a permit,” Perea said, according KDBC…

Okay, so they didn’t have the proper permits.

Reports say that the permit process will take a minimum of 2 months, when the section of border wall being constructed was originally scheduled to be completed by this weekend.

The question now is, will Perea, a liberal Democrat allow the permits to be issued so that construction can continue or will he find another excuse to prevent the construction of a section of border wall?

Although the process could take up to 2 months, it would not be a surprise to see the process stall even longer in hopes of shutting down the wall construction.

There is a good reason for zoning laws, they prevent irresponsible property owners from constructing things that are a nuisance to communities. This is why you don’t see strip joints next to schools and churches or tire burning facilities within housing developments. An 18 foot wall is at best an eyesore and at worst poses a collapse hazard and puts barriers to wildlife, no permits no wall. And hopefully a fat daylight fine for noncompliance with the ordinance. Perhaps the city can pick some of the 20 million in go fund me money and use it for good. It would be nice to see the people who kicked in for the h**e wall to see their money used to shelter and feed refugees.

Recently your posts were loaded with derogatory comments on Go Fund Me.
Now, Go Fund Me is abiding by the donor's wishes to build the wall.
Not to shelter and feed.
Assemble a caravan of buses, go to the border.
Haul all the i******s to your property.
Shelter, feed and medicate them to your heart's content.
