Russian hackers are like surgeons, they send out a phishing email to at most 10 people, this way they can keep a low profile and slip in without fanfare. But, the DNC phishing was different, they sent the email to everyone. They had not done this ever and have not done it since. At the same time, the Pentagon was hit and the unsecure portion of their system was c*********d..... Almost all of the Pentagon system, those linked to the Web (not the secure systems) had to be rebuilt....

Now more interesting, Shawn Henry, is a former head of the FBI’s Cyber Division, runs CrowdStrike. This raises an interesting question. Did the FBI want the guilty party to be Russia and Shawn ignored the uncharacteristic attack?

We know that in September 2015, NSA informed the FBI that DNC computers had likely been hacked. An FBI agent then called the DNC’s IT office and said that the organization’s servers had been c*********d. That part of the story has been told — but, what has not been made public is how little was done for seven months. The FBI periodically tried to get in touch with the organization, but the DNC did not believe the threat was real.

Finally, in April, the DNC IT department became convinced that there was a problem, and top Democratic officials became worried. But even then, they didn't call the FBI. They called the sales desk at CrowdStrike. Another interesting fact, historically when systems were hacked by Russians they took the information for espionage purposes. They did not leak it to WikiLeaks. One has to ask why they would change their MO, especially knowing that Russia would be a target and could cause major issues, perhaps even war? Does not make sense.....

Robert Johnson, the crowdstrike employee had this to say: "The party had hired CrowdStrike essentially in place of the FBI — to this day, the Bureau has not had access to the DNC’s servers." Interesting too, CrowdStrike never saw the systems, only data returns from a program supposedly run on those systems. Some CT think that the IT at the DNC ran the software provided by CrowdStrike on a system that they knew had been hacked by the Duces v***s.

Johnson gave an interview last year and explained how the v***s was found. "Johnston sent the DNC a script to run on all its servers, and then collected the output code. To an outsider it might have looked like a tedious job to examine long strings of data. But within an hour Johnston had it: an unmistakable string of computer code — sabotage — that didn’t belong in the system. It was “executable file paths” — evidence of programs — that didn’t belong there. They stood out like a shiny wrench left in a car engine.

And in fact, Johnston had seen this particular piece of code before, back when he was at the Pentagon. So it was easy to recognize this nemesis. He knew who had sent it by the telltale signatures. “This was APT 29,” he said. Later, when he had spent more time analyzing the DNC hack, he would come to believe that the Democrats had been c*********d by the same blast of phishing emails that had breached the computers of the Joint Chiefs."

So, this leaves many questions that will never be answered.... was APT 29 responsible? Then why destroy the systems? Is it possible that the systems were never hacked, but they had the email sent to the Pentagon that someone loaded onto disconnected servers to make it appear as if the systems were hacked? Was this a way to give the US a new boogeyman (recall the bad blood between K**lary and President Putin)? If so, it worked.....

If you read the Mueller report, it does not talk about the "hack" but spends hundreds of pages on social media and advertisements. I found that interesting.
