Sob! Sob! There you did it!!) ......From 2002 to 2013 the list price of insulin tripled. Azar went to work with Lilly in 2007...from2007 to 2009 he was a VP at Lilly and lobbied for them. From 2009 to 2012 he was a VP in the Health Management services at Lilly....Neither position had control of pricing. SOOOO!! During the tripling of insulin's List Price....Azar had no say .....let alone that there are 8 major manufacturers of insulin for the US Market so it is not like Lilly has a monopoly on Insulin !! From 2012 to 2017 Insulins price went up about 100 % ( ie they doubled)...it is important to note that the List Price IS NOT THE SAME AS THE ACTUAL 'Net' price that patients with insurance pay....these 'Net' prices are negotiated by PBM's ( ie pharmacy benefit managers ) who begotiate a lower cost... take a fee.. than pass them on to insurance companies, these 'net' prices have increased about 3%......people with no insurance OR WHO HAVE INSURANCE WITH HIGH DEDUCTIBLES ( ie Obamacare ) DO NOT PAY THE 'NET' RATE and must pay the actual List Price ( ie the Big Kahuna).....Hence it appears that the 'Tan Irishman' O'bama is more responsible for people paying the List Price than Azar is....and the 'Orange Man' has nothing to do with any of it while Azar had no say in pricing while it was tripling.
