No matter how she wants to be considered, I can still form an opinion on her politics by the things she posts. IMHO, I see no middle of the road in her posts, they are all Trump ( or conservative) negative. Simple logic dictates that a person who is middle of the road will sometimes agree with BOTH sides of the aisle. I have seen not one good word OR any agreement with what I'll call the Trump side. Does that make her middle of the road? It sure doesn't look like it. But if she doesn't like the term liberal, I don't have the need to call her anything.
I have to use the same logic in your case. You actually use the same words and display the same emotions as a liberal. Dislike, disdain, displeasure, non approval looks like...(repeat) LOOKS like typical liberal ranting.
So, I ask you, did Trump reverse gay marriage? Did he cause nuclear war? Has he not established America as a leading nation again? Has he not negotiated better trade deals than we have seen in forever? What part of the constitution has he trashed? Forget the hoopla for a moment, was his proposed ban on certain Muslim countries that promote terrorism not warranted? After all, it was only to get better vetting. Has he not tried to protect our borders? Has he not won the respect and support of the military? Now, the most basic question...Trump was already a billionaire with an extravagant lifestyle, having fun on TV, doing what he wanted to do...why on earth would he take all the hatred and meddling, abuse of his wife and children, (including his 12 year old son), why would he scrape his fingernails to the bone to protect America, in simple language...why would he put up with all the crap that he has? The ONLY answer that can be real is because he loves his country. He said that very thing many years ago. Trump fights FOR America. Can you give tangible evidence that he does not?

Hi friend David...

All fair points, and I am glad to hear you are PMing with whitnbrat... She is a most excellent person to correspond with...

One thing I would like to add ..
Many of those who consider themselves centrists have trouble with Trump... He is rather far to the right...
I think you might have found that these same individuals would have had trouble with a president who is far left...

Quite frankly... There are very few center politicians at the moment...

Can you recall any of the right leaning members of the forum who claim to be centrist giving Obama a break? On anything?

I would encourage you to PM with some of these Lefties (From personal experience I know that Slatten, Morgan and whitnbrat.... Yeah you are all lefties ) and have an actual dialogue with them... Without all of the other forum members sticking their noses in and eroding the topic...(there is one Canadian guy who is particularly annoying )...

I think you will find that they have more in common with you than you would think... Not on all issues... But I have never failed to find common ground with any of them...

As always I hope you are well... We are finally getting some rain and everything is blooming... Will send you some pics in a day or two when the sun comes out...

Your friend, Kyle

There was never a real terrorist threat through legal immigration and the visa process. It hasn't been reversed since the new vetting procedures have been implemented.

As I understand it, the entire emphasis has been on a border wall, when 90%+ of the drugs and smuggled aliens come through the legal ports of entry, therefore I would have to say, not yet.

I cannot get into the mind of the president, nor would I want to. However, as for his fighting for America, can you answer me this: Why does he have such an affection for Putin that he refuses to criticize Russia or Putin and acts pretty much like a lap dog for him. This disturbs me greatly since Russia is probably our most prominent competitor for world domination and trade, and to kowtow to an ex-KGB agent to me poses a national security threat. From what I've seen, the only thing Trump loves is himself, then his money, and the nation comes third. Yes, I'm biased, but I've seen nothing to alter that bias in terms of concrete accomplishments or policies.

I am trying to strike up conversation with the left. I try not to insult or berate, but to get a discussion going. Unfortunately, most of the ones I connect with are kinda like.....them, "That ain't true". Me, "Yes it is!" Them, "you're an i***t." Kevyn is my weakness...I just can't "not"respond when he posts those horrid pictures. He never responds back.
Slatten surprised me, as I thought he was conservative.
Anyway, I'm getting along a lot better since my suspension. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Slatten is most definately a conservative in my opinion... A true centrist... I called him a lefty just to tease...

Both sides have individuals who lower themselves to ad hominem attacks... It impacts the rest of us as well...
And can ruin a good thread

I enjoy your posts... And you are one of the few on either side who can admit when he is wrong about something or offer an apology when things have gotten heated.. These are excellent qualities lacking in far too many of us

Take care my friend....

I find that striving to stay on topic is the best way to stay away from the messenger and address the message! My method is taking the comment I am addressing, copying it to another word program, then addressing it point by point. Also, keeping in mind the original comment made that was created by the originator of the topic.

That being said, I too find it hard not to verbally slap down those that reveal their idiocy and arrogance. I don't like doing it but sometimes ignorance needs to be put in its place!

...just my opinion!

It's late and I need sleep but I'll answer this question that you asked, why does Trump not scold Putin to his face?
Who, in the scope of the world are the MOST dangerous "big" boys, THE nuclear powers? There are three; The U.S., China, and Russia. I don't think Trump has trounced on China OR Russia for that very reason. Are there tariffs on Chinese goods ? Yes there are. Are there sanctions on Russia? Yes there are...more than Obama ( or ANY president for that matter) ever implemented. So, while they are smiling and shaking hands, they (we) are still enemies. It's called diplomacy. You smile and shake hands, but do everything you can to undermine the "other" guy. China's been doing it to us for years and so has Russia. Russia tried to influence our e******n.
I believe, IMHO, that Trump wants China and Russia to be business partners instead of enemies. That would mean greater security for America, not to mention the money we could be making.

If you are referring to Trump. What part of the constitution has he trashed?
The ones that come to mind are Oversight by Congress, Independence of the Justice Department, etc. There are others ...

For your info, there are 3 branches of the government, all depend of each other. SO, Trump can not oversee Congress.

I see other mistakes, but I deem it a waste of time pointing them out.

Yet, I admit to agreeing with much, if not most, of what the writer has to say. I also accept that those same good people will question this evaluation of the man just as I often question theirs. C'est la vie. "I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, (or) in philosophy as cause for withdrawing from a friend." --- Thomas Jefferson
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

When it comes to the d******eness of today's politics, I am beginning to think that the Russians that spent so much money and effort to swing the e******n to put this fox ( aka Trump) in the hen-house…must have spent a goodly amount of money on a roomful of social psychologists also.

They want Trump to call American laws that have stood for 250 years…unlawful…. and he has brought that idea into question many times.

They know he is un-educated, so he will know nothing of American or global history, laws or processes. As a classic, classless blowhard, he will loudly deride what he does not understand. He has done just that with every legitimate American institution that we have trusted since 1776.

They expect Trump to create d******eness in the people by using politics as a wedge. Again, Trump plays right into their efforts by telling lies to a certain sector of the American populace who can identify with his lies and in turn becomes a cult following. Those that remember the Jones cult in Guyana will identify with what Trump is doing. His lies are so believable to these poor people, there is no other t***h but Trump.
They know Trump can talk a line of BS and outright lies that sounds so very convincing. They know he has spent a lifetime conning everyone possible in business and life. No one will know what to expect him to start blabbering on or lying about next which will sow never-ending chaos. So it has come to pass.

That he is so self-serving and greed-driven this will conflict with what we expect of a fair president and that this will cause very questionable behavior on his and his major republican supporter's part.

They know that a segment of the Republican Party, driven by the same greed as Trump's, will join him, defend him and push him further with whispers in his ear. They will use him as a malleable chump to destruct parts of our laws and land so they can put their fingers in the biggest jackpot ever offered to them, the taxpayers of America.

They could not have chosen a better person of the job of taking American values apart, denying the freedoms we have enjoyed since the Bill of Rights was signed or to do a good job of backstabbing the very people that he claims to work for. Trump has spent a good portion of his presidency working with his political and financial backers dismantling the law and economic structure of our land so that they can reap the economic benefits of free tax money. It's all there in black and white cross-indexable print.

His ego is so powerful, his empathy so lacking, that he feels nothing as he hugs the American f**g one moment to show his supporters that he loves the land, then sits down and signs an executive order that rolls back a regulation that will poison thousands of his own people the very next moment. (the dumping of toxins into the waterways rollback, etc.)

He will stand in front of thousands of his supporters, talk (lie) for an hour about how (bigly) America will be under his direction. A virtual sea of red MAGA hats will cheer him on, the adulation washed over him as a wave of ‘we love you Trump’, ‘ you're our god because you care about us little people’ and he will exhort them to ‘be patriots’ and ‘be his people’. He and his twisted egotism feeds off these poor folks grand dreams and expectations. He plays them like the proverbial fiddle. The very next day, he signs a budget that was a direct attack on those very same people that cheered him on, v**ed for him, thinks of him as a god among men. He and his helpers signed a proposal that would take huge amounts of food from the mouths of his own support base , their children, their parents. He signed that proposal that would take away many needed schoolteacher and after-school programs, indeed the whole public education system and put it directly into the hands of his friends in the private education sector. They would not even be able to afford to go to school. They would remain ignorant, which is right where he and his republican backers want them.

Trump's people (seem to) have no idea, they don’t even seem to care.

That is how bad Trump can eat souls like some kid eats candy.

If there is one thing about America today that can truly be called f**e, it is Donald Trump.

The "great businessman" who hit bankruptcy six or more times and lost over a billion dollars in a ten year period? Is this not f**e?
As for the economy, the people at the top are making out like bandits (and they are indeed bandits) while the average wages for the working stiff haven't improved much at all. Yes, the stock market is doing well, but that isn't t***slating to the average American.
If you want a discouraging look at high finance and how unethically the economy REALLY works, look at the causes for the bankruptcy of Remington Arms. The legal manipulations of debt and ethical lapses are truly amazing ... and this isn't the only instance, I'm sure.
