I do a hodge-podge. I practice the preludes of Chopin & Bach.. I try to learn Joplin's Rags and jump around in blues, 50s to 70 pop, spirituals and jazz. My teacher shakes his head a bit. The way I look at it if you're practicing Beethoven you're learning Beatles, if you practice Beatles, you're learning Ellington, if you're practicing Ellington you're learning Charlie Daniels, etc.
