Sounds to me like you're saying that if someone doesn't believe what you do, that you consider them stupid. Is this what you really meant to say? If so, you are displaying an incredible amount of hubris and total ignorance of the human race.

It didn't sound that way to me. If, then.

TommyRadd,

Randomly typing page after page of Scripture, ripped from it's mooring, taken out of context, with nonsensical meaning applied is neither an answer to legitimate inquiry, a legitimate Biblical doctrine, or a substitute for sound reasoning, which you cannot recognize, even when pierced with it.

You've typed yourself blue in the face for days now, and you've said absolutely nothing.

Baseless accusations against either Rose42 or I, by grasping inappropriate Scriptures that in no way apply, is an exercise in futility on your part.

You believe the typing of a proliferation of words, strung together without rhyme or reason and regurgitated, page after page after page leaves you somehow triumphant (?), because your self perceived "enemies" have correctly accessed you as inane, and have accordingly left you on a "battlefield' of your own invention, to await your Creator's tender mercies?

Your war is against the God who created you, who knows whether your motive is to make a name for yourself, and to further the promotion of a book to which you have alluded on Amazon...

for which you are willing to ransom the souls of misguided men, who lacking spiritual discernment, fail to see you as you are.

I, personally have found nothing of substance in your words, your demeanor, or your misuse of Holy Scripture.

Please exercise your freedom of speech, while ignoring your own conscience, and continue your charade to you heart content, with the knowledge that you will give an account to the Triune God for every misspoken word.

You almost said something there, but stopped short.

Judgement Day will be too late to "defend the doctrines handed down once for all to the saints."

Today, preferably, would have been the day.

Thanks, Blade_Runner. I understand and agree with Rose however, both sides are well entrenched with their beliefs. My take on things like this, " I won't make fun of you for going to hell if you won't make fun of me for going to heaven." Perhaps not too Christian but the devil's advocates are almost as strong than the followers of Jesus. Jesus said, Heaven and earth shall pass away but my word stands forever. (paraphrase).
Many things will not be discovered until judgment day.

Thank you for correctly identifying the enemy, Rose.

He is a defeated foe, and this underling who is serving him at his own soul's peril needs to gnash his teeth less at those on earth, and become aware of the war going on in the heavenlies.

You have in no way triumphed, nor has your "champion" of choice.

Even from your less than mature mindset, it should be self evident that this is not a parlor game or a tennis match.

It is an exercise of man's free will and the chosen object of each man's faith will determine the eternal destiny of that man's soul, according to rules established by our Creator.

Only a fool would treat this as an earthly social exercise winnable through rules set by men.

Triumphed?
Wouldn't that indicate there was a struggle?

It was a metaphor...
Mature minds use them to emphasize points... Like parables... But simpler...
My apologies for being to "immature" to resort to fallacies and Slander to [attempt] win an argument...

Stopped Clock phenomenon..

So... Don't use the Bible to debate the Bible?
Stick your fingers in your ears and run around yelling "Satan Satan... False teacher... Wrong wrong wrong"....

My favorite part of this thread (aside fron the truly excellent debate and meeting Tucker and Meadowfield and others...) was how easily certain individuals who claim to be authorities (or at least act like it) on Christianity were exposed for their complete inability to defend their "authority"...

And how quickly they resorted to slander and ad hominems...

Perhaps this is the true threat to Christianity in the western world?

My, my, who knew! You are so spiritual that even the apostle Paul was just a "fool" who didn't have as high of spiritual standards as you do!

For, unlike you, he stooped so low as to use worldly games as examples, but of course, you are above that:

“5Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn't crowned unless he has competed by the rules.” 2 timothy 2:5

“Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.” 1 Cor. 9:25.

Were Paul to arise today, he sure could use some lessons from you in true spirituality and how to say the word “triune”, and how to formulate words to say, “God is three persons in one essence.”

But alas, he said things like this:

“Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.” 1 Corinthians 2:13.

Poor, poor Paul for not having your knowledge and eloquence with extrabiblical words and concepts that were developed and adapted from gnostic and pagan “moorings” long after his departure from this world!

Silly Paul for commanding to teach no other doctrine (1 Timothy 1:3), when he never expounded in detail on the doctrine of an eternal sonship (wh**ever that means), or God as an “essence” that can be divided into three persons. He should have known that the great Tertullilan would come along and, by borrowing concepts from pagan Gnostics, be able to set the record straight on how to define the triune god:

“If any man from this shall think that I am introducing some probolh—that is to say, some prolation of one thing out of another, as Valentinus does when he sets forth Æon from Æon, one after another—then this is my first reply to you: T***h must not therefore refrain from the use of such a term, and its reality and meaning, because heresy also employs it.” Tertullian, Against Praxeas, Chapter 8.

“Don't you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:6

And my, my how woefully inadequate the apostle Peter was, who, when applying the keys of the kingdom as given to him by the Lord Jesus Himself neglected to openly declare Jesus to be anything other than a man approved by God:

“Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know...” Acts 2:22

My, my but how these apostles, inclulding Peter himself, could have benefited from the great teacher Zemirah, teacher of men, rebuker of scoundrels by her own formula of persuasive words of authority, perpetuator of antichristian terms and concepts, that even the disciples of John were still rebuking as antichristian:

“Therefore did the Lord also say to his disciples…’Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from the dead, and that repentance for the remission of sins be preached in his name among all nations.’ Now this is he who was born of Mary; for he says: ‘The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected, and crucified, and on the third day rise again.’ The Gospel, therefore, knew no other son of man but him who was of Mary, who also suffered; and no Christ who flew away from Jesus before the passion; but him who was born it knew as Jesus Christ the Son of God, and that this same suffered and rose again, as John, the disciple of the Lord, verifies, saying: ‘But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have eternal life in his name,’ –foreseeing these blasphemous systems which divide the Lord, as far as lies in their power, saying that he was formed of two different substances. For this reason also he has thus testified to us in his Epistle: ‘Little children, it is the last time; and as ye have heard that Antichrist doth come, now have many antichrists appeared…’” Irenaeus, Against Heresies, Book 3, Chapter 16, par. 5.

The apostles, according to the early witnesses, didn’t call being unloving antichristian. They called the dual nature doctrine of Gnostics “antichristian”! My, how these disciples of Polycarp, disciple of John who wrote against the antichrists got it backwards. Thank goodness Zemirah is here to champion the cause to hold on to the ancient doctrine the disciples called “antichristian”! With her own words she is able to rebuke and set the record straight!

Why, even Jesus wasn’t as great as the great Zemirah who has the authority to speak judgment with her own words!

“16Jesus therefore answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. 17If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself. 18He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.” John 7:16-18

How silly of Jesus to say, “he who speaks from himself seeks his own glory”, he must not have heard the great swelling words, and authoritative ones at that, of the great Zemirah!

“For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error” 2 Peter 2:18

Why, everyone pay attention to the great Zemirah, for she is even more knowledgeable than the greatest of the great historians of Christian doctrine regarding the true “moorings” of the words and concepts she employs to defend her “triune” god! For they all with one voice claim the Trinity was founded on words and concepts that came from antichristian Gnosticism, but Zemirah knows better than all of them, and Zemirah must therefore be the greatest authority on earth at the present time, because she doesn’t need to appeal to any other authority than herself!

“Surprising though it may seem, there is total agreement among scholars on at least one point. Adolf von Harnack, Ignacio Ortiz de Urbina, Luis M. Mendizábal, George Leonard Prestige, Peter Gerlitz, Éphrem Boularand, John Norman D. Kelly, Frauke Dinsen, Christopher Stead—all without exception agree in claiming that the Gnostics were the first theologians to use the word homoousios {ie, Zemirah’s “one essence” doctrine}…The late Aloys Grillmeir wrote: ‘The early history of the Nicene homoousios shows us that the theologians of the church were probably made aware of this concept, and thus of the doctrine of emanation, by the {antichristian} Gnostics.’” Pier Franco Beatrice, “The Word ‘Homoousios’ from Hellenism to Christianity,” 248.

Let us all wonder at the great Zemirah, wiser than all the great scholars of our time put together!

These unanimous theologians obviously have nothing on the great Zemirah, propounder of the hidden knowledge that only the enlightened and “special elect” have knowledge (gnosis) of!

For the theologians teach that the “moorings” of the “one essence” of the “triune” god came from antichristian gnosticism, but Zemirah knows even better than they:

“The Gnostic terminologies within the Æon speculations were partly reproduced among the Catholic theologians of the third century; most important is it that the Gnostics have already made use of the concept ‘homoousios’; see Iren., I. 5. I,… I.5.4,… I.5.5…In all these cases the word means ‘of one substance.’…Other terms also which have acquired great significance in the Church since the days of Origen (e.g., agénnetos) are found among the Gnostics…Bigg. (1. c. p. 58, note 3) calls attention to the appearance of trias in Excerpt. ex. Theodotus § 80, perhaps the earliest passage.” Adolf von Harnack, History of Dogma, I, 259: “The Attempts Of The Gnostics To Create An Apostolic Dogmatic, And A Christian Theology; Or, The Acute Secularising Of Christianity,” § 3, footnote 357.

Oh, how the apostle John erred in warning of the spirit of these antichristians who posited words like trias (triune) and “one essence” (homoousios) and such when later theologians like Tertullian would be able to adopt them into mainstream Christian thought and later day disciples of Tertullians, like the great Zemirah, would be able to rebuke people for not following in those contra biblical traditions of men!

“Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.” 1 John 2:18

My, but hyperbole is a pretty cool teaching tool!
