Boston Celtics Star Is Dead.

John Havlicek died today. One of the all time NBA greats. Back in the days of Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Wes Unseld and other players who thought it was their duty to be role models instead of overpaid clowns.

Thank you, Smedley, for posting this. I checked before posting it myself, if necessary, to see that Havlicek got his due, as he was one of the great ones! I loved watching the old Celtics play tenacious team ball on both ends of the court, instead of today's helter-skelter one-on-one style and no defense for 75% of the game.

R.I.P., 'Hondo.'

Those were some classy players. Isn’t it Havlicek’s silhoette on the NBA logo?

I’m sorry to hear of his passing. Today’s players could learn a lot from him and other men of that era

I believe that is Jerry West's profile/silhouette on the NBA logo...but, could be wrong.

Lets not forget Dr. J. Or the Admiral (David Robinson). Two fine gents and pretty good basketball players.
