I wouldn't hold my breath on Gavin Newsome being recalled, there are simply too many lefties in California. I lived in S.F. when we recalled Gray Davis and replaced him with Arnold, but since then the "Golden State" has gone totally overboard.

Jersey, I can see, especially after that i***tic "rain tax." That's a state government desperate for money, which is a key indicator of a mismanaged state.

Good for Jerseyites!

Yup. If you have a driveway, parking lot, etc on your property (a restaurant or large store with a massive parking lot is screwed) rather than an absorbant surface like soil, depending on the dimensions of your hard surface it adds on to your taxes based on inches of rainfall each time it rains.

Only "progressive" politicians could come up with something like that.

The Democrats, also known as "tax & spend" Democrats, in their efforts to purchase v**es, spare no expense in making government all things to all people, each venture guaranteed the support of a voluminous and very well compensated bureaucracy.

This is not a problem for them, as they have at their disposal a particularly dependable brand of ATM known as "the taxpayer," to which they can always turn when they have burned through wh**ever available funding they've had to work with, and simply take more.

This is by no means a rare phenomenon in Democrat run states like NY, California or, as we see here, New Jersey.

In New Jersey's case, since they were already taxing their citizens quite heavily, they needed to get creative and add a new tax to the mix.

So they came up with ☂️ the dreaded "rain tax."

It's as simple as that.

After all, Democrats will be Democrats.

The Democrats make no bones about it, they simply love to “tax and spend!” The Democrats are fully committed to the redistribution of American Wealth from hard working Americans at all levels; rich, middle, poor, selling their policies, programs and concepts (green new deal) on “Main Street” and then implementing it. Once the coffers are filled with taxpayer monies, they fund their favorite programs which have popular support from the dumb and ignorant “change for change sake” supporters. Using 25% of the money for actual programs, the rest is channeled into pots for bribes, non-compete contracts, kickbacks, political contributions to the corrupt party and other well contrived rip-off schemes. If these policies continue for a lengthy period of time as they do in Democrat controlled cities and state governments, the results are clear, they go bankrupt. Once the city or state money runs out, they have to find more creative, more stupid ways to capture their constituents money. They lie, they c***t, they scheme, they steal. They laugh at their constituents who must pay up. They have the scruples of a pack of jackals! Somehow, the Democrats get elected, and many re-elected. Wake up America! Time to clean house.

They have a fee to cover the cost of maintaining and building storm sewers that the nutters refer to as a rain tax. In reality it is simply paying for building and repairing infastructure, but you know how the right wing nutters think everything is free.

Property owners have NO control over the rain fall. If the state wishes to tax the rain then the state should tax mother nature. Of course as dumb as government can be at times they are probably smart enough to know that there is wisdom in the old saying " don't fool with mother nature". There should be a saying "don't fool with the v**ers". Will the state tax private home owners the same tax on the rain water that runs down roofs into the roof gutters and into the streets? Will the state tax the cities and counties for the streets that are black top or concrete thus nonporous? The craziness goes on. This type of thinking will drive us all into a form of bankruptcy. Thank God I'm on my way out of this life due to age and health. I pray to God there is no such thing as reincarnation; or at the least that I will be exempt. My offspring should learn to question and police the governments at all levels or pay the price. Get tough at the polls. Hold elected officials accountable for all appointed officials. This is war; take no prisoners.
