Is Secession a viable solution to this country's divide? How would it proceed and what would be the cost?

Even a peaceful divide, in my opinion, would fatally wound our country; we would must likely be no longer a major power. Yet that might be better than open conflict. It is difficult to see all the ramifications of such an action, but if we are indeed at a point of irreconcilable differences, a direct conflict between the Republic as formed and Socialism, what choice is there?

Was the Civil War necessary or even the American Revolution? All that wanton death and destruction just the price to pay for liberty? Hundreds of thousands thought so, and gave their lives for the cause.

It seems that the moral climate of America is in decline. Is Secession the answer?

For me, how to configure the division so that we may possibly retain our world standing is essential. An Amendment process, rather than armed r*******n, seems the sane and just option. This way, accommodations can be made for both sides to keep the nation staple and productive.

Or can we trust our present bicameral system to resolve these issues as it has for over two hundred years, as we overcame a civil war by the rule of law dictated by the Constitution.

No kidding. I remember Rush talking about what a divide of this country might look like. His scenario was all liberals live east of the Mississippi River, all conservatives west. Within a decade the liberal east would be destitute and begging the affluent west for help. Our response, "You cooked your own stew, baby, eat it."

Based on their track record, in that scenario, I can’t imagine them begging for help, as that would require at least some level of an acceptance of failure. In other words, that sounds more like a conservative’s projection of how they would act in the highly unlikely event the conservative faction failed.

When other l*****t regimes have collapsed, do the protagonists themselves typically, “ask for help”?

What I would not be surprised to happen is, the l*****t leaders would double down on playing the victim card, including blaming their useful i***ts for not doing their part in assuring the success of the protagonist’s dreams for their unrealistic, humanistic utopia, and from that point the spiral of oppression crescendoing out of control (ie Exodus 5:6-8).

Then conservative America will have compassion on the oppressed populace and step in to save them, likely by military force. Then the l*****t agitators will accuse conservative Americans of being war mongering imperialists.

Wouldn’t a scenario like this be more in character?
