Each year in my state the news reports record highs. Yet in the 90s we had highs of 130+ degrees with triple digit temps over nearly 3 months. Last summer's record high was 100 degrees and it hit that on 2 days out of the entire summer. Yet the news claimed it was a record heat!!!

Not to mention the analogy is way off. Instead lets say you notice you are warmer than usual in your home. Do you panic and call the fire department first, or check if someone has turned up the heater?

The real question is how much human activity influences the climate. There is no question that smog affects human health and that smog is a result of human activity. This is just one example of human activity having a negative influence on the environment. Climate is natural and it cannot be controlled but some negative influences on the environment and maybe climate can be controlled

As an example, the US accounts for about 12% of the world's coal use, but produces only about 5% of the coal caused pollution. I wonder who produces the rest of the pollution and what they are doing about it?

And they are old and trying to use up as many resources as they can before they die to be doubly repugnant. If only more young people v**ed. They are inheriting an earth that's going to see extremes of weather more so than we already have. Maybe even a new categoies of hurricanes and tornadoes. But they don't care. Richard zip code, YOU have a problem with where you get your data. The International Conference on C*****e C****e has been fudging temperature data since the temperature peak in 1998. Each year they show a temperature gain of a thousandth of a degree, or so --- just enough to claim an increase. They claim that land-based temperature data must be adjusted to account for newly built buildings, highways, and parking lots. But all that is crap; they just need to show steady gains to support the steady flow of federal money to their research. In reality, satellite temperature data show that temperatures peaked in 1998 and have gone sideways since. Steadily rising CO2 levels during the past 20 years have not moved temperatures up one iota.

It's all an elaborate h**x, Richard Zip Code. Temperatures will continue to rise and fall according to the amount of solar energy coming from the sun ---- period. If you really want to know how people deal with warming temperatures, ask people from the Egyptian warm period or the Roman warm period.
