The Muslim Religion has its roots in The Old Testament. Adam, Noah, Moses and Abraham are their prophets. Some sects of Islam even accept Jesus Christ as a prophet (but not a diety). Muhammud started his own religion because he didn't like the way Judism and Christianity had become the religions of white people, and he wanted a religion for the Arabs, whom he thought had been left out. Over the centuries, it has been Christians and Muslims who have fought and persecuted each other. (The great crusades and the Spanish Inquisition). Jews and Buddhists have generally been very peaceful people. In India, Muslims h**e Hindus, and so the Hindus have to fight back to protect themselves. Wars have generally been started and fought for economic reasons, but It's sad that religion is often used as an excuse.
