The following 8 pieces are from an article describing what is being called FOX news brain, and the damage it is doing to American families. Read this and don’t make your family one of the victims.

I love my mother. She is one of the kindest and sweetest people you will ever meet and I would be nothing without her. I’ve never heard her say a bad word about anyone, never mind anything overtly terrible, like the type of thing, for example, you might hear from Tucker Carlson or Sean Hannity. But I do know, much to my dismay, that she has watched them on TV a lot over the years. As such, my mom and I have agreed to not talk about politics anymore. The cognitive dissonance between this lovely woman finding something appealing in the most xenophobic pundits on TV is too hard for me to reconcile. I don’t want to think about it.

It turns out there are a lot of families across the country who have a similar arrangement, or worse, in which people have stopped talking altogether to relatives they feel have been stolen from them by Fox News.

To be clear, Fox News didn’t invent the w***e s*******y and r****m at the heart of America, but the channel has definitely supercharged it. It’s also important to point out that “My parents watched the bad TV and got r****t off it” is clearly a much less serious problem than being someone whose life is put at risk by the type of stuff Fox News promotes. That doesn’t make seeing someone you care about slide into the myopic bubble of right wing propaganda any easier.

I mentioned the idea of losing family to Fox News brain on Twitter the other day, and unsurprisingly, a lot of people had their own similar stories. I asked some of them to share how it felt.

Here’s a collection of the stories people shared.

My normally empathetic parents frequently rail against a raise in the minimum wage, Medicare for all, and the regulations imposed by the government on businesses. Those regulations are for the safety and health of the citizens. We will be realizing those consequences in the near future with food safety as the Trump administration will now allow the meat industry to police itself. Fox fans do not realize that they are being fed propaganda that is really against their best interests.

I watch Fox and MSNBC (Although not everyday).... Fox appears more balanced to me... Greater range of casters and more willing to engage on all sides of an argument..

Steange how it is only Fox tearing folk apart... And how it is always the Liberals who are experiencing the problems... Almost as if the conservatives can allow for dissenting opinions and views...

What makes you think I’ve never watched it? Blaming Fox is dishonest unless one assigns equal blame to other media for they are no less biased.

Your alleged greatest story is actually fiction? Maybe it’ll make your day to join in helping out the poor i******s by contributing to various gofundme sites to raise $ to charter buses to get the poor folks into sanctuary cities where they will be safe. Feel the love ❤️

Just a general comment, so not replying to anyone specifically. I am so tired of hearing people on the left (who must be aware at this point that the vast majority of media outlets are pushing their agenda) whine about those few remaining voices that actually present a conservative viewpoint. If you're only happy when everyone around you is espousing your world view, then you deserve the apparent anguish you feel when you encounter that rare dissenting opinion. Maybe we don't deserve another 12 years.

Actually, Kevin can probably save his money since the US pays (rough guess) about $8 Billion to the UN, and the UN and it's NGO's are the ones who are behind the effort under the guise of their "Replacement-Migration" plan. So, every American taxpayer should cheer up knowing that their tax dollars are being used to fund the vast inflow of i******s into this country. http://lisahaven.news/2019/04/revealed-united-nations-six-million-man-invasion-force-heading-to-america/

I guess even George Soros can save his dollars and use them for his other socialistic causes.

Vent all you want

It was the monthly public meeting of the Cammann Road District. Our advisor took it upon himself to complain to the state that I had called an illegal emergency meeting with the other board members when we had flooding and houses being affected. We agreed to spend the money and we did the work that prevents future flooding. The state shut him down and at the meeting he got smart so I sternly reminded him that he was a district employee who served at the pleasure of the board. (condensed) HE was chewed up spit out and left to kick a can down the road while eating worms .

So with that post I suppose you would claim that the MSM in this country isn't biased or r****t. They prove every day they promote r****m in about 90% of their programs. That leads me to believe you have never listened to Hannity or Tucker with an open mind. Your mind is closed to all subjects you reject, when they disagree with your point of view. Your family isn't the ones that rejected you, you have rejected them because of your biased and r****t view of conservatives and those that respect the laws of this country. That is so sad!

After Obama was elected I thought my dad had turned a corner – he said he stopped listening to talk radio, especially Rush Limbaugh, on his long work commute, because he said that Limbaugh had gone off the deep end.

I don’t watch Fox News because of course it warps your psyche, but it must have changed tone after Trump was elected. My dad slowly became even more xenophobic and angry than he used to be.

My wife and I are worried about letting our daughter stay with our respective parents, because their toxic anger and resentment is slowly becoming their entire identity. I h**e what Fox News has done to almost everyone in my family. It’s absolute poison and the only thing I think is worse is that there are people who think that destroying the morals and conscience of multiple generations is worth a few more bucks. I absolutely refuse to believe that people like Hannity don’t know what they are doing.

I wish I could do something, but who has the time or energy to combat that?

It isn't what Fox news has done to them, it is what you have become. A r****t and bigot with out ever hearing, with an open mind, what others who express a different view than you. You seem to have removed them from your life just because they think differently.

You can't prove it by me. Any family that produces you has to have some basic problems.

I think that people who have disagreements with the content of Fox are usually the problem themselves.
In your own post you say your parents "rail against a raise in minimum wage, Medicare for all..."
IMHO, there's nothing wrong with being against raising the minimum wage nor being against Medicare for all. Elementary economics tells us that someone should earn what they're worth. Not an arbitrarily decided figure. The laws of economics apply just as does the law of gravity. Artificially raising a minimum wage doesn't mean that the employees being affected are worth the new minimum wage, merely because the government decreed it. More often than not it means they'll be terminated because the business owner can't afford it.
As an aside, AOC recently visited the old coffee shop where she had worked before being elected to Congress. The place was closing and she wanted to say one last goodbye to her former fellow workers. It was forced to close because the owners couldn't afford the new minimum wage - which AOC had strongly supported. Merely another example of the laws of economics visibly demonstrated.
Ditto for Medicare for all. Medicare for all isn't a right. Rights as defined in the constitution don't take from others. My right to speak freely doesn't diminish anyone else's right. Same with all other constitutional rights. Medicare for all is a lefty talking point that should be soundly defeated.
