Pro-Life Movie Changing the Culture, Calls to A******n Reversal Hotline Spike After Release

Standing up for conservative principles can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. No matter the issue, it seems like the loudest voices are on the left, screaming into megaphones and getting into people’s faces with a tinge of hatred in their voices.
That’s been particularly true over the past few years, when even wearing a campaign hat of the U.S. president can get someone assaulted. If you’ve wondered “what’s the use?” when looking at how overwhelming our current culture can be, you’re not alone — but things aren’t as dire as you think.
Even though it seems impossible sometimes, the fabric of American culture can change. Conservatives can have more of an impact than they realize, even in typically left-leaning areas like arts and entertainment.
That’s exactly what was shown by the pro-life film “Unplanned” over the last few weeks.
We’ve covered this eye-opening movie previously, but if you’re not familiar with it, the film tells the story of Abby Johnson. She was once the director of a Planned Parenthood location before making a complete 180-turn in her values, and becoming a pro-life ally.

It’s safe to say that “Unplanned” will be largely ignored by most of Hollywood, yet it still has had a profound impact on our culture and the a******n debate. A leading pro-life group has reported an increasing number of women eager to reverse their chemical a******ns before it was too late … and advocates believe that’s directly linked to the new movie.
“The Options Line, run by Heartbeat International’s A******n Pill Rescue Network, has seen a recent spike in calls from women seeking to reverse their a******ns since the film’s release,” the Catholic News Agency reported Tuesday.
“Following the release of ‘Unplanned’ in theaters on March 29, the hotline registered a 30% increase in calls compared to a normal weekend,” the outlet said.
That seems to be much more than just a coincidence. The dramatic movie deals with the topic of chemical a******ns on screen, and it’s likely that it raised awareness of options for women who went down that path.
“We do believe that (the sudden surge) was attributed to ‘Unplanned,’ specifically,” Andrea Trudden, the director of communications and marketing for Heartbeat International, told the Catholic News Agency.
That means that many more women than before are likely aware that the decision to end an unborn child’s life with a chemical a******n doesn’t have to be permanent, at least if the mother acts quickly.
“A chemical a******n is a two-step process that involves the injestion of two drugs: mifepristone and misoprostol. The first drug, mifepristone, effectively starves the unborn baby by blocking the effects of the hormone progesterone. The second drug, misoprostol, is taken up to two days later and induces labor,” explained CNA.
But here’s the part that is far less known.
“The a******n can be reversed after a woman takes mifepristone, but before she takes misoprostol — though this must be done quickly,” the pro-life outlet continued.

Trudden told the Catholic News Agency that chemical a******n reversals have between a 64 and 68 percent success rate. She said studies have shown that children born after surviving a reversed chemical a******n are often able to have normal and healthy lives.
“Many women who have chosen a******n wish they could go back and change their decision,” Chuck Kozelman, the co-writer and director of “Unplanned,” told the Catholic News Agency.
“What we’re seeing is that many of the women who still are capable of reversing that decision are doing so, and we think it’s wonderful,” he said.
That’s a perfect example of why we need more creators like Kozelman, and more movies and other works that show conservative viewpoints in compelling ways. We are at an interesting point in time where alternative outlets can thrive and fresh voices can be heard.
The left wants to act as if it has total control of American culture, but that’s just not true.
All it takes is for people to stand up and speak the t***h.
It may not be popular and it may not be easy, but doing the right thing rarely is.

“The a******n pill reversal (APR) procedure can only occur after the first dose of a medical a******n (mifepristone/RU-486) is taken orally and is ineffective after the second set of pills (misoprostol). But just as a******n in itself is a controversial topic, so is the idea of being able to reverse a medical a******n.”
