On Memorial Day, I will be at the wall. If any of you have a section you wish a flower to be placed at the base, please let me know which section. I will be purchasing flowers on Saturday. If there is a particular name you wish to honor, I will attach a tag to the flower naming that individual for you.

Thanks for the offer but we were there two weeks ago to pay tribute.

I have 2 cousins, who did not die in 'Nam, but of leukemia caused by heavy exposure to Agent Orange while they were there. The only 2 members of my family to ever die of any sort of cancer. They were both AirCav. They are not on the wall, although their service caused their deaths.

If you tell me a year for each, I am more then willing to place a flower with a tag showing their name.

Sorry but for last 3 or 4 years we go up before the crowds, it's also less expensive.

I understand about "expensive". I am still less then pleased. :hunf:

Do you come Veterans Weekend?

Gary M. Radford, 6E, Line 93
James H. Sparks 22E, Line 90

AuntiE, please say some words, also, for those who came home less than whole...physically and mentally.

Thank you for your gesture.

Use to spend the week whenever Veterans Day fell but since we're both retired we cut back. Roughly 3000 miles both ways so it's not exactly a short trip.

Thank you, Auntie, for your willingness to be of service to others. An admirable trait indeed. A schoolmate of mine, Robert E. Lee Class of '59 Essex Aggie in Hathorn MA is on the wall and I've been to it once & found his name but don't remember the Section or Line. Thankfully, my brother Mike's name is not on The Wall but many of his friends from the 101st Airborne are.

I can find it through the wall site.

It will be taken care of.

AuntiE, if time permits and you still have the energy, could you please visit the Korean War Memorial? It is on the Mall near the Lincoln Memorial. It would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to, perhaps you could just say a prayer. I lost not just a few, but a number of good friends in the "Land of the Morning Calm". Some in combat, some in the PW Camp. Thank you.

Basically, you now want Aunti to have to wear trekking shoes inside of nice flats to galavant the mall from place to place. 8-)  As it is you making the request, I will do as you ask.

I am sorry for the loss of your many friends. It leaves a hole in us.
