I have read a lot of Obituaries and tombstones. I focus on the life that was lived, not the death. There are a lot of old cemeteries in my area. Since I know history, I know what was going on in a macro sense during the person's years of life. The wars and inventions that occurred while that individual was on the earth.
I think I would have been fine 150 years ago. I am not a s***e to modern conveniences. I know how to use an outhouse. I am not a horse person and since they were a major factor back then I would have some trouble dealing with them. Other than that, as long as I was in America, I would have made out okay.

Very similar to one of my old drinking buddies. He always said he wanted to be k**led by a jealous husband in bed with a 35 year old woman, at the age of 90. Sadly smoking and drinking caught up with him before the jealous husband, although he sure did give the jealous husbands plenty of opportunities.
