My wife I were middle class earning folks who insisted that our daughter go to college. She ended up earning two degrees in 4 years. It cost us a fortune and she had debt to pay off too. She ended up getting great jobs because of her degrees and has finally paid off her debts. We paid ours off awhile back by concentrating on it.
I'm not sure I'm condemning these parents and especially not the kids. We all want the best for our children. This buying privilege has and is going on in every aspect of life in this Country. To absolutely ruin a family's life and career over this is wrong in my opinion though if they've been prudent they'll survive because of the money they have.
They lose their livelihood, including the kids, and Hilary, LL, and the rest of Bathroom Barry's goons go untouched. Something is really wrong in our Country. Mike

I personally did the Electricians and Welder Woodworkers route through school and also decided to make a living from that and the the Sea. I'm a lowly blue class worker but I can work anywhere at anytime making a good wage.. I've made my living with my hand and body. Hard work but to me satisfying. My wife on the other hand had a college education and had a great paying but unsatisfying job. Between us we are happily comfortable. Our bills are paid ahead of schedule, we don't own credit debt and won't.
Have any of you been in a coal mine? I wouldn't go for love nor money. Mike

Heck, the bribe they paid was more than twice over, $500,000., but they're so stupid to not hold their kids to a high enough standard to be accepted to these schools because they aren't any more educated than their kids. Neither of the parents went to college and one is a Hollywood baby.
I still don't fault them for trying to further their kids chances in this world considering what is such a disgrace that has happened with our past Government.

These parents weren't seeking high paying careers for their children. They were paying for access to the elite level of society. The one where who you know is more important than what you know.

I am not exactly sure I understand the point of your post. The scandal is how the wealthy elite use their money to pave the way for their children into the best colleges in this country. In doing so, deserving students are bounced out to go to lesser schools or possibly no school at all. Your daughter got two degrees so neither her or you were impacted by this latest scandal and your comment on Hillary and Obama has no relevance to anything other than your own sour grapes.
Now if you want to know how this scandal ties into the wealthy elite Trump used his lawyers to squelch his high school and college transcripts which suggest he didn't have the academic rigors to gain entrance to the schools that he gained admittance to. That's a scandal, nothing else...
