Greenpeace co-Founder: The New Green Deal is Completely Insane

If you think the Green New Deal championed by the far left sounds pretty far out there, you are not alone.

One of the founders of Greenpeace is particularly outspoken about the plan, which has been heralded by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Patrick Moore is one of the founding members of the Greenpeace organization, and has been increasingly concerned about the Green New Deal. He recently spoke with Fox news and outlined the parts of the deal that he finds so troubling.
The End of Civilization as We Know It

Moore did not mince words when speaking about the Green New Deal program. The plan to phase out coal, oil and natural gas over the next decade would lead to food and humanitarian crises around the world and devastate most of the population, according to Moore. The plan calls for replacing about 85% of the world’s energy sources, but does not really say what these sources will be replaced with.

“We do not have anything to replace them with,” Moore told Fox News. “Yes, if we went into a crash course of building nuclear reactors, we could replace them for producing electricity, but that isn’t going to happen because the Greens are against nuclear and they are even against hydroelectric dams which at least is renewable. But they don’t support that either.”

According to Moore, the left is opposed to almost 100 percent of the types of energy and fuel that the world needs to function. Getting rid of those sources would halt most t***sportation, including trucks, ships and planes. It would also render leave most households without power for refrigeration, heating and cooling and other basic needs.
Food is at the Heart of the Issue

Moore’s largest concern is food. While food can be harvested on a small scale without energy (you can simply pick a tomato from your own garden, provided you have one), you can’t feed millions of people without energy.

“You don’t have a plan to feed eight billion people without f****l f**ls or get the food into the cities where it’s needed,” Moore added.

Moore highlighted the need for large trucks to haul tons of foods to supermarkets on a regular basis, from farms to stores. Many people living in more urban areas think food comes from the supermarket, according to Moore, but the reality is the food we eat relies on f****l f**ls for planting, cultivation, harvesting and delivery.

“And if we ban f****l f**ls, first agricultural production would collapse in a very short period of time. There are these things called tractors and they use fuel, and all the other implements on the farm and then there is the t***sportation,” Moore explained.

How do you get food to Manhattan, where Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex lives, without power? You don’t, according to Moore.

“Then the people there will begin to starve, and that will spread out as a rot from the center of the metropolises all across the country and half the population will die in a very short period of time,” the Greenpeace co-founder concluded.

Moore also spoke out about other aspects of the deal, which he feels would lead to deforestation and tree death throughout the USA in a short period of time.

You know the Democrats have gone too far when they can’t even get noted environmentalists on their side…

I found several quotes in less than a minute that validate what he says. They are not hard to find. Sometimes it's good to do a little legwork yourself, then you can be sure.

I liked the beginning of this one~~

“Patrick Moore, the co-founder of the environmentalist group Greenpeace, ripped into New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over the weekend as a “pompous little twit,” saying the Green New Deal plan she’s advocating is “completely crazy.”

“In a series of tweets, Moore argued Ocasio-Cortez, who has called for drastically reducing f****l f**l production, doesn’t realize what would happen across the world if the radical plan were implemented.”

Schumer wants all dems to simply v**e present if McDonnell brings it the floor~~ loko that little tricky dicky.... lollol

Greenpeace co-Founder: The New Green Deal is Compl... (show quote)

Patrick Moore is a disingenuous paid shill for polluters who frequently portrays himself as a founder or co-founder of Greenpeace, and many news outlets have falsely repeated this characterization. Although Mr. Moore played a role in Greenpeace Canada for several years, he did not found Greenpeace. Phil Cotes, Irving Stowe, and Jim Bohlen founded Greenpeace in 1970.

In 1986, Moore abruptly turned his back on the environmental movement. He didn’t just retire; he joined the other side. Today, he’s a mouthpiece for some of the very interests Greenpeace was founded to counter, notably the timber and plastics industries. He argues that the Amazon rainforest is doing fine, that the Three Gorges Dam is the smartest thing China could do for its energy supply, and that opposition to genetically modified foods is tantamount to mass murder

After he left Greenpeace, Moore began work with the Nuclear Energy Institute front group, the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition (CASEnergy). Moore stepped down from his leadership role at CASEnergy in January 2013, however [he said that he] would remain an active member.

Moore has worked for the mining industry, the logging industry, PVC manufacturers, the nuclear industry, and in defense of biotechnology. In October 2008, Greenpeace issued a statement distancing itself from Moore, saying he “exploits long gone ties with Greenpeace to sell himself as a speaker and pro-corporate spokesperson, usually taking positions that Greenpeace opposes.”

Moore has been criticized for his relations with “polluters and clear-cutters” through his consultancy. His primary income since the early 1990s has [come from] consulting and publicly speaking for a variety of corporations and lobby groups such as the Nuclear Energy Institute. As of 2014, Moore was also listed as a board member of NextEnergy, a Canadian energy services company

That's the spin of the left and ofthose who would run roughshod over people to get their agenda. Greenpeace used to be a good organization but they've gone the way of extremists and are no longer worth being donated to.

Moore brings in needed counterpoints which the left wants people to ignore. There is no magic switchover and people's lives will be in upheaval. Extremists never care about any of that because they put the planet and animals above humankind. That's what Greenpeace does now.

There is currently a switchover as their should be, and government policy should incourage the switchover not promote new antiquated technology. As coal plants reach the end of their lifespans replace them with carbon nutral energy sources. Continue to insist on and subsidize energy efficiency and stop subsidizing f****l f**ls.

The democrats are so dumb that they sent me a petition to stop coal pollution in my town.
I live in the oil field and we don't use coal.
We also have no oil field pollution.
