It is odd, this sort of thing is usually done by experts at the FAA. It must have polled well among Trumps core for him to involve himself personally in such a mundane decision.

For one who believes in k*****g innocent unborn children for any reason saving lives is mundane.

Why cant you just admit that President did the right thing....And now according to breaking news,FAA agrees with President's decision...Looks like airplanes were faulty....according to FAA at this site of the latest crash in Ethiopia..

So you don't really care about saving lives unless its politically expedient?
Other countries are grounding it, the FAA wouldn't so the president did.

Why would his hands be on it at all, it is the roll of a regulatory agency not the president. His Public input is nothing but a PR move. He could have achieved the same thing quietly with a phone call.

If he did not do anything you would complain about him taking no action.

The question is why didn't the FAA and or Boeing do it? The president has not put a good person in charge of the FAA, it is someone who is "acting" as he has not appointed someone for confirmation, his last great "pick" being his seriously lame personal pilot.
Now there is talk of a Boeing exec spending time at Mar A Lago trying to get the job. You do not put people with conflicts of interest with Boeing in charge of the FAA, it takes an expert in the industry that doesn't have conflicts of interest. The president shouldn't have to step into this if the FAA or Boeing does their job.
Boeing knows they have a problem, part software part lack of training.

No, the complaint would be about the FAA or Boeing not doing the right thing, not the president.

Much better to err on the side of caution. I wonder why the FAA wouldn't do it. I will have to check.
