A student in Ohio claims she received a day of in-school suspension after she hung Bible verses on walls and lockers in response to L***Q p***e f**gs decorating the halls. The teen also alleges that her principal said she was “targeting the [Gay-Straight Alliance] organization.”

In a video shared on her mother’s Facebook page, Gabby Helsinger details the incident that occurred at Lebanon High School. Her mother, Tina Helsinger, captioned the video, “Lebanon schools celebrates [sic] evil and punishes righteousness!!”

“On Thursday when I got to school, I see that there were p***e f**gs, posters around my school,” Gabby said in the video. “And I felt the need to write down some Bible verses so I could put them around my school. And I wrote them down and I put them around the lockers, the walls.” It is unknown which Bible verses Gabby chose to share with her peers.

Gabby said that when she was returning from lunch, she witnessed her teachers taking down the Bible verses.

“The next day, I got called to the office and there is a letter that says that I have an ISS, which is an in-school suspension, and the reason why I have it is because ‘abuse of others, disrespect, rudeness’ because I put Bible verses up ‘targeting the GSA organization.’ I did not know what the GSA organization was or meant,” she claimed.

She additionally noted that she had “seen that there [were] people in my school that needed help… They don’t need to be living in the confusion of wondering if they should be gay, bi, lesbian, t***s — anything like that. And I know that God is the only way that they can be healed by that, and that’s why I did it. I was not targeting any kind of organization.”

When she arrived at the principal’s office, according to Gabby, he asked her why she hung the Bible verses. “And I said, ‘Because I wanted to spread the word of God.’ And [the principal] goes, ‘Well did you have permission?’ And I said, ‘No.’ I didn’t know you had to have permission because people do it a lot — putting Post-It notes on people’s lockers, so I just did it.”

Gabby goes on to claim that she asked the principal why, if God or Jesus is mentioned, it gets removed “straight away,” while “gay p***e stuff” is not punished.

Principal Scott Butler, who is unable to comment on student discipline matters, did tell Yahoo Lifestyle in an email, “In general, when a student violates the Student Code of Conduct, there are consequences for those actions.”

Gabby’s mother, Tina Helsinger did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. However, her Facebook post reads that she “appealed the punishment stating ‘Posting a Bible verse is not abuse of others, disrespect/insolence/rudeness and in no way was it targeting GSA.'” Regardless of the appeal, Tina states that Gabby is expected to report to ISS on Wednesday.

Would that Principal really have given Gabby permission to put up Bible quotes on the wall? I doubt it. Schools should NOT allow posters regarding sexual preferences to be posted on their walls, whether permission is given or not. That is a personal choice for consenting adults that should remain behind closed doors at home.

Do you suppose they are the infamous gay negative verses?

You are aware that while a school may have a gay alliance type club that meets, the school probably has a bible study type club as well?

The point being that it would not be okay to target anti christian rhetoric to those participating, there are two edges to these swords. There would have been nothing wrong with flying messages about a christian alliance, a targeted anti message to those you oppose is not the same thing.

Maybe you see it maybe you don't. There's nothing wrong or objectionable about bible study or christian fellowship groups, nobody objects to that. But the person who objects and h**es someone else because they are gay, and targets their beliefs or rights is objectionable. You have your own opinions and beliefs about things like that, and you keep them to yourself. Gay people are not hurting Christians, they are not assaulting them, and they are not attacking them for their beliefs or who they are. Note to Christians, leave gays alone, they aren't hurting you, nor do they care about you one way or another except when you decide you have to make a big deal about how much you h**e or object to them.

I'll bet she could have put flyers up announcing a bible study group. But what is the purpose of bible quotes that target or have a message that pertains to someone else specifically?

If the gay group had anything up about anti christian messaging you bet it wouldn't be allowed. When your message is about being against someone else it is not okay. It's h**e and it's not okay.

I'll bet no school would object to a christian message with a bible quote that said something about loving your fellow human beings no matter who they are. Someone puts h**eful messages up and complains about Christians being under attack when they are told to stop it?

You could have easily simply pointed out possible issues without being pompous. You want to normalize homosexual behavior that's your choice. But note to people like you, its not normal no matter how much you want it to be and children don't need it in their faces at a very vulnerable time in their life. So yes, the homosexual community does hurt our children by promoting sexual deviance. That doesn't belong in any high school.

So the kid broke the rules by posting things on the walls in school without permission while a recognized group had permission to put up artwork.

I believe the LGBQT community is pushing their sexual agenda on our vulnerable children by posting f**gs and posters on school walls - it's all about sex...how they have sex, who they have it with, etc. They want to normalize the fact that women have sex with other women and men have sex with other men and some people have sex with wh**ever g****r comes their way (bisexuality). They try to mix it up (a man calling himself a woman and a woman calling herself a man) and are trying to make young children think that this is a normal thing and it's all ok.

By allowing these people from this community to post their agenda on school walls, that Principal is also telling those children that homosexuality, bisexuality and changing one's g****r is also ok with him and the school board behind him. In my humble opinion, a Principal of a school has no business messing with the sexual orientation of his students.

A friend of mine that's my age (60's) was parroting the anti gay rhetoric being spewed in advertising. He was saying he didn't want his grand kids being taught about gays in school. His sons were doing my roof, we were eating lunch, I asked his son who's kids these were what he thought, Gerald jumped in and his son said "dad, kids don't give a damn about gays, they don't care, it's no big deal". Gerald was in shock, I had tried to tell him that based on my daughter's attitudes. Kids do not care if other kids at school or their friends are gay, it is no big deal to them. The only ones that would care are those inordinately influenced by parents who rail against gays.

This is a pile of secular humanistic horses**t, a Christian cannot burp, sneeze, fart or blink an eye without some atheistically perverted reprobates accusing him of committing a crime.

To commit a religious act is a crime, isn't it? Posting messages from God in an effort to shine some light into the darkness is a crime.

Don't believe me, just ask Lucifer.

Oh I didn't know you cared. Are you so much in the closet you can't get a sweet heart thats a shame.

But the worst part you don't think that other people have a right to express their opinion. Just make them shut up while you creeps try to indoctrinate the young into your sick games.

It amazes me that the same individuals who claim teenagers are mature enough to v**e, don't believe they are mature enough to handle Bible quotes....
No one should be harrassed.. Agreed....
But this simply sounds like a good chance at dialogue to me... Why not allow students to explore all facets of expression and discuss all the arguments out there...
I was suspended from junior high and highschool several times... Most were for incidents similar to this... Simply daring to express my beliefs...

Good post Rose

Who bullies them, fine upstanding kids of righteous christians?

Bullying should be getting kids suspended and or expelled if they don't stop. And what, the bully gets protected because they are reflecting their christian values?

I will say it again, my daughter said the gay kids were open about it and nobody gives a damn. Anyone bullying them needs to be suspended

Have you seen the anti gay scriptures typically used? They serve no purpose and do not have a place in schools.

Scriptures evoking a message of love and unity, of acceptance for everyone would not be a problem, nobody would object. I think you missed the point about the way this girl was targeting gays with less than friendly scriptures. It was not an attack on christianity, it was a rejection of hatred.
