Probably are already forbidden to bring food from home. Maybe the schools could provide tuna salads. Or maybe the parents could stand up to diBlasio for the good of their children. We must stand up against would be tyrants FOR our children.

Amen and Amen

I agree! It's about control. Food choices are personal and the government needs to stay out of it. That kind of action, where the government starts to dictate even what we can eat on what day, is just a foot in the door for the next stupid thing they think up to try to take over our lives. The lesson from Michelle's big FAIL should be fresh enough in their minds not to even try it.

What I eat is my choice and not for any government entity to decide. Step away from my plate! You might get forked!

I thought that a good portion of New Yorker's were Roman Catholic and they already don't eat meat on Friday why not incorporate that day instead of Monday. Then they can serve fish on that day.

I think that's just during Lent now. Used to be every Friday year round when I was a kid growing up in the church decades ago. They used to call us Mackerel Snappers.

And besides, if they did it for reasons of religion, the community would raise holy hell about it. But climate change … now THERE'S a cause all the loony left can get behind.

Probably the very reason he chose Monday instead of Friday.

I think its stupid but NYC is dealing with a mayor who kowtows to animal rightists. That's whats behind this. Its not about saving anything. DiBlasio also tried to ban horse carriages in Central Park. NYC can expect more of this lunacy unless they give him the boot he deserves.
