I think we beefed at each other at times a while back. I never took it personally and you are certainly forgiven for any perceived slights. God bless you and your family. Those of us whose companies have been unable to keep good medical plans in place know the kind of stuff you've been dealing with. My personal opinion is that we could get things restored to sanity if we could just subtract greed from the equation. Same with a lot of areas, not just healthcare. Good will to you and yours.
Thank you for your comments, my son’s also have a Company with 65 employees but per his remarks the affordable care act has some problems but looking at the big picture he is happy with it because while some peoples cost we’re going up his actualky went down.
His company is in MA. Where they had there own version of the ACA which is actually called Mass. Cap
If you reseach State to state because there premiums fluctuate and why is it successful in some states and not others.
But What we all have to understand is the ACA was created with specific mandates and who qualifies for health insurance subsidies, along with some specific requirements such as you cannot be denied healthcare for pre-existing conditions, no more cancelling your insurance if you get sick, no more max payouts, coverage for college students under the family plan till they graduate, the federal mandate which Trump repealed and now will raise the cost of premiums. But other than these specific requirements. The ACA is not run by the federal government its 100% controlled by the States. So why does it work in one state and not the other.
Why do Insurance carriers provide insurance in one state and not the other. That had been going on for the last 50 years but now the insurance companies just blame it on the ACA.
Why do some states create insurance pools, and other states do not. My son Joined the pool in MA his first year he saved 18%. But other states refuse to create these pools.
Why do some states sign into Medicaid expansion and other states reject it. If you look at states with Medicaid expansions there prepare lower.
What is the age demographics of each state.
I could go on and on but the ACA which has minimum requirements but allow states to expand as they see fit.
So a state that’s having problems to just blame it on the ACA is just wrong. Every negative when it pertains to the Medical cost, Prescriptive drug increases, premium increases, doctors cancelling patients, deductiables, there’s a reason why one state pays more and one state pays less.
We need to discuss each specific issue within the ACA and then reseach as to why it works in one state or another. When you have a problem in your state why does my son not have the same problem.
We all have to remember this program is run by the state not the federal government.
If you have a state specific problem you have the option to apply to the federal goverment and change what’s causing the problem.
But we have some states that have totally ignored anything in the ACA.
So let’s begin at the start and debate these issues.
Let’s begin from the start which a good area start is 10 years before the ACA was started when this country had over 35 million people without health Insurance.
