General Chit-Chat (non-political talk)
What can we really do?

Folks, I've given some thought as to what I can really do for any real and true change in our Government! Granted, this is suppose to be a non-political general chit-chat, but I'll make my point clear in the following.

I found an article that set forth an acknowledgement of public awareness to all the lies, disinformation, covert and dishonorable deeds that our Federal Government has been guilty of over the last 100 years. I believe the term is "Woke" or a simple realization of events of our American history! I intended to share this article with the President and everyone in Congress . . . but, then a thought entered my mind, "What am I doing? I'm stealing time from the Lord!" You see, being a blood bought, born again, Bible believing Christian . . . my time really isn't my time at all. What I would consider as my time belongs to Jesus, not me! In t***h, the time spent on sending that article to Congress and the President is pure egotistical self gratification . . . proving just how "Woke" I am and pushing that into the face of Congress!

So, as a Christian, I have been impressed with a simple reality . . . for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain! In other words, my time is not my own . . . it belongs to Christ! To pray for all of Congress may just lend itself to a true change in the hearts of those in Congress.

I am bewildered a bit though. My concern for the condition of our country has not gone away. My desire to be more of an influence in some way has not lessened. But, until I get a sense of peace in sending that article to Congress . . . in that I would be following a coarse of actions that is within a kind of blessed thing to do, I will place my attentions on what I know is within Christs will for me. And that is to pray for those in authority over us!

Thank you for your time!

We all have our little corner of the world. Do your best from that little corner and from there it can spread. There is always the first shovel full of dirt when you remove a mountain.

Wh**ever is in that article will not be read by anyone or, if read, ignored or uses as the butt of jokes. They have heard it all and don't care. Save your breath.

That's the half empty glass view Marvin. Cos Bay Tom's is the half full view.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most Christian posts I’ve read here at OPP!

Thank you!

What can we really do? When all is said and done, when the time comes when our life here is over, a simple t***h will be all to clear . . . we only had control over ourselves. Our actions will speak louder than any of our words or intentions. So what can we really do, my simple suggestion is this . . . just be sure that you do something with what you believe . . . because FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD!

One more thought.......

I believe there is an art to speaking to others in a manner that allows for a more open conversation, regardless of the topic. I hold to a t***h that the hardest of topics, or the topics that tend to rub people the wrong way, are the topics of discussion that must be made. Talking about those serious, and often offensive, topics are exactly what needs to be addressed in today's society. The issues that hinder this type of dialog are the radicalization and polarization of differing views . . . and it is these views that must be addressed in a civil discourse among us.

Somewhere, somehow . . . we must find a way to talk about all the issues that exist in America . . . without striving to shut the discourse down because of any disagreements. It has been seen numerous times where a certain group disagrees with a speaker and does everything to stop them from speaking! This kind of behavior is unacceptable and should be put an end to immediately!

We must make every attempt at discourse and communications must be made open by all parties involved . . . all sides of every issue must be brought forward and addressed so that a true closure can be achieved. We are better than what has been seen over the last 20 years. We must find a way, make a place, support the idea . . . we must talk about these issues before they tear America apart!
