Are We Living in the Time of the Rapture?
By Pastor Gary Boyd

"Be ye ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." (Luke:12:40)

Luke no doubt submarines the belief in a sign pointing towards the rapture; Jesus says He will come "when ye think not." The rapture is the coming of Jesus for the true believers or what in scriptural terms means his true church at a point in prophecy when the wheels of the end times speed up. When the Christians have left the earth to be before the throne of God in heaven this will leave only the hopelessly wicked to scramble for power and glory on the planet.

The Quickening

This causes the fate of man to speed up or quicken because there aren't any people of God to stand in the gap and call them out on their t***sgressions. There is, however, an indirect sign that shows on the one hand that Jesus is preparing a replacement for the Church and on the other a completion of the Church.

True Believers

All Bible readers that have become true believers know that Israel is God's chosen people. We also know that Israel did not except Jesus as the messiah. Thus God set Israel aside and did not use it as his instrument of light, salvation, and judgment. The Church (true believers) from the Gentiles is God's organ of salvation on earth today. The Church's message has been "come to Jesus and be saved" a proclamation that has endured for almost 2,000 years!

Conflict

This has set up a conflict because Israel also was promised by God to be a light unto the world. At this present time they are in darkness because they never believed Jesus to be the messiah. Israel then has to be restored to its original boundaries in order to fulfill prophecy that states she will returned to her original promised land given by God. When this happens the Israelis will start to see an active hand of God in their affairs. Ultimately Israel will have to take an active position of leadership in the Middle East to fulfill prophecy. Deuteronomy 14:2 states, "For thou art a holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord has chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon all the earth." Therein lies the problem. Two groups of people are expected to be the light of the world.

Israel Not a Light at this Time

Israel now in darkness cannot be a light unto the world. Thus future tense must be applied to Israel when their leadership will occur. The Church individually is the light in the world presently. When the Church then is removed in the rapture it then becomes Israel's responsibility to be the bringer of light into the world. They will be able to do this when they see their land fully restored. That God has a plan for them all along.

Task Completed

When then will the Church's task be completed? Scripture tells us when the last from among the Gentiles is added to the Church. Then we will be raptured into the presence of God in his throne room.

Israel Restored Spiritually

Israel will then be restored spiritually to be the light of the world in the not too distant future when their land is returned to them with the old Promised Land boundaries.

Be a Light unto the World

We do not have to have a Ph. D. in theology to understand how to be a light unto the world. Simply obey the commandments because now you are a chosen person of God, a special member of a Christian nation, a person who should be a light in the world that is spiritually darkening. The Bible makes it perfectly clear that we are saved by the grace of God, not by our works! Jesus paid it all, all to him we owe!

Do you realy buy into this rapture rubbish? It seems to me to be the ideology of those tent ministries where they do snake handling, tung talking and phony faith healing.
