Watched my last Oscar for the night. Best documentary, I think, and she's thanking someone for hiring people of color. Well alrighty, then. That, is what's important.
Some how I'm an 8th Comanche, my best friend has a black mom, dad unknown. Known him since age 1, it never even came up till we were in our forties. I had fought beside all races, I think, but did we ever consider it?
What is it with color. The wife and I work in medicine now, with lots of brown docs and white docs. So what?
When can the "oppressed" let it the hell go? We bleed the same. We feel the same.
Learn about your friends/your enemies. Belove the one and fight the other. But get the hell over who is what color! I crack open your chest, what color, do I see?
What F-ing color is that I see? I hope it's bright, well oxygenated red!
The only time color matters is the difference between you team's uniform and your opponent's uniform. When I played, that is all I saw. When the game ended, we left all animosity on the ice.
