It's the M.O. of a lot of big companies to fire or lay off older workers because they cost them more. I wonder if that is the reason or if it really is racially motivated. I expect its more the former than the latter. This could all be at the prompting of a lawyer who smells a chance for more $$$.

It would be nice if they were at least punished for firing older workers just because they're older. Maybe it would give more companies pause.

I’m no fan of the WP, but this fits right in with the racial harassment claims that are going on. Jussie had the Fox entertainment post $100,000 bond. This was not over what he regarded as not enough in his paycheck. The two Nigerians born in America immediately headed back to Nigeria, one of them on to Turkey. This doesn’t strike anyone as unusual? Jussie risked his career!!

I don't believe he thought he was risking his career. I think he was looking for attention by pushing the narrative du jour. I didn't hear the brothers left town. That's pretty unusual cuz aren't they material witnesses?

Now all that has to happen is that the lawyer for the complainant manages to prove the premise that he was fired for reasons other than those outlined by the employer. How he does that is anybody's guess, because I have absolutely no idea. How do you prove what somebody was thinking - in the past, and even moreso, how do you prove that they're lying about what they were thinking?

I wish them all the luck in the world, bless their hearts.

Can't attest to the true motive of the firings but Anti-discrimination laws( due to age) have been on the books for years. I am sure the WaPo is aware of them and maybe decided to try to BS their way though.
