Family of Covington teen nails Washington Post with a massive lawsuit

The family of the Covington teen at the focus of the controversy over an altercation with indigenous advocate Nathan Phillips filed a massive lawsuit against the Washington Post on Tuesday.

Lawyers for Nick Sandmann and his family are seeking a whopping $250 million from the mainstream media news outlet.

The lawsuit claims that the Washington Post "wrongfully targeted and bullied Nicholas because he was the white, Catholic student wearing a red 'Make America Great Again' souvenir cap on a school field trip to the January 18 March for Life in Washington, D.C."

The altercation between Phillips and the Covington teens went mega-v***l after many in the media assumed that the Trump supporters had accosted the Native American activist — later videos surfaced showing that they had been the victims of racial taunting.

The lawsuit claimed the WaPo "ignored basic journalist standards," when reporting on the story.

Attorneys Lin Wood and Todd McMurtry, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Sandmann family, said that this was only the first in a series of lawsuits they are planning against the media.

An independent investigation commissioned by the Diocese of Covington found that the accounts from the Covington Catholic High School were consistent and concluded that there was no wrongdoing by the students that were excoriated in the mainstream media.

The Bishop of Covington also sent a letter of apology to the families of the Covington Catholic students and acknowledged that there was a rush to judgement in their initial condemnation of the teens.

What a crock. The suit says that poor little Jason was singled out because he was white. Not true, he was singled out because he was a prick. I am sure the Post isn't losing any sleep over this one...

Who is the “Jason” you are referring to?

Your comment is more revealing about you than anything (as in like adding something meaningful to the discussion).

From the lawsuit:

“Nicholas stood quietly and respectfully for several minutes after being targeted and bullied by Phillips and Nicholas’ body language remained non-aggressive and passive throughout the incident.
”Nicholas is 16-years of age, is 5’9” in height and weighs 115 pounds...
“Nicholas did not confront Phillips.
”Nicholas did not move toward Phillips.
”Nicholas did not make any movement to block Phillips’ path or prevent Phillips from physically moving wherever he wished.
”Nicholas was startled and confused by the actions of Phillips in singling him out and confronting him.
”During the confrontation instigated by Phillips, Nicholas stood still as he was concerned that turning away from Phillips might be considered a sign of disrespect.
”While he stood there with Phillips beating a drum near his face and singing loudly, Nicholas remained silent and did not utter a single word to Phillips.
”Nicholas did not make any gestures by hand or otherwise toward Phillips.
”Nicholas made only one gesture while being confronted by Phillips – he quietly signaled a classmate to refrain from responding to profanity-laced insults being directed at the student by one of Phillips’ companions.
”At all times, Nicholas acted respectfully, responsibly, appropriately, and in a manner consistent with the values instilled upon him by his family and his religious faith.
”The confrontation ended when Nicholas and his fellow CovCath students were instructed to board the buses.”

If you had read and understood the suit (as you implied), you would have known the name of the defendant. Which shows that you, like f**e news WaPo, are more interested in defending your false ideology than t***h and facts.

The person named Nicholas (Nick) Sandmann, described above, can be seen in the full-version videos to have been approached by Philips, not the other way around, and Sandman acted respectfully and appeared only to want to diffuse the situation. Since you claim (imply, since you got the name wrong) that he was the “pr..k” in this situation, you are showing that it is you that justifies bullying innocent youths by adults if they aren’t supporters of your ideology.

I guess, by your comments, Sandmann was guilty of inciting an incident, and thus worthy of derogatory name-calling by you for no other reason than merely being white and being in public. This makes you a r****t, to boot.

But those of us who have read your past posts already knew all this about you. It’s called “typical”.

When you think about it, it is people like PeterS who enable f**e news (which, WaPo being sued for being this topic, is just a sample of) because they allow themselves en masse to be brainwashed by MSM propaganda, and are thus the real root cause of all America's problems.

Why? Because personal liberty requires personal responsibility and accountability. Lazy People shirk those responsibilities and relinquish them to the power-hungry (narcissistic, superiority-complex) folks who are the last people who should be leaders in a free society!

So these useful i***ts who can't or won't think for themselves soak up wh**ever MSM, g*******ts and any other socialism-lovers indoctrinate them to think! And that gradual t******r of p***r (personal liberty/freedom l***hed over to, and replaced by, big-government-oversight) is the ONLY way America could be corrupted from its original, noble purpose!

And people like PeterS, (who refuses to do a little bit of his own research, as shown in this as a case in point, where full videos of the event are easy to find and quite indisputably revealing), just parrots the talking points of the oppressors of the people- and so the destructive, oppressive t******r of p***r spirals our nation down the drain- because so many of the PeterS's of the world simply love to be told how to think! And then anyone who determines to correct the downward spiral is tagged by the MSM, and again parroted by the sheeple, as an "enemy of the state." Also note, sadly, how Peter's response proves that they consider checking in with the latest MSM talking points (i.e. "f**e news") to be "research"!

This is why "f**e news" (false indoctrination) is truly the enemy of the people! Because it takes a country "of the people, by the people, for the people" and turns it's "people" into mental zombies... as PeterS has typified for us in this very thread!

I know, my explanation is much more long-winded and detailed than just calling him a "pr...k", but, personally, I don't like to use that kind of language, even though, I have to admit, it's merely semantics, and we're basically saying the same thing

note:I felt it necessary to highlight f**e, because that word seems to always get dropped by libs so they can attack a straw man that "the press," period, is being vilified which is yet another MSM-talking-point lie!
