Christopher Columbus did not discover the area now called the USA. During four separate trips that started with the one in 1492, Columbus landed on various Caribbean islands that are now the Bahamas as well as the island later called Hispaniola. He also explored the Central and South American coasts. But he did not reach North America. Although, I can agree that C. Columbus was a harsh man and on the islands he did stop, he was brutal to the natives. Perhaps Mr. Lee should read a few books before he goes around spreading his horse manure.

Columbus never set foot in the US, and don’t you think that the American Indians who’s ancestors were without argument subject to genocide and the decedents of those forcibly ens***ed are entitled to a less whitewashed version of our history? Much of it from s***ery to the trail of tears is horrendous and inexcusable.
