Honestly... When my mother was a teenager she lived on the border and walked across all the time for shopping and fun... No guards or anything...

When I was a boy all we needed was valid ID, like a driver's license, to cross...

After 9/11 things changed...

The majority of people crossing the border go through checkpoints and have legitimate reasons for doing so... Anyone who crosses illegally needs to be punished... Strictly punished.... Like public caning and loss of passport rights...

Most of my family is Located on the border (both sides) and we have never seen the need to cross illegally...

Also... I would be kicked off of the OPP for using the correct adjectives to describe my PM... Baby Trudeau needs to be replaced... Post haste...

Wow, that will be one expensive wall Canada will need to build. There is thousands of miles, even more kilometers, of border wall to keep them criminal Americans out of Canada. As our economy slows down, many people are looking to the US for work...

MAGA hats are fairly well received in my part of Canada... But the West coast has had more problems with immigrants and refugees than other parts...

Way back then when awareness of your surroundings and perhaps a study of geography was an 'in' thing, I detected we have borders around the entire US. There was never a real worry about invasion so nothing was done beyond a few check-points but today, it is a different story.
OK build the southern border protection but do consider Canada's immigration policy under "Baby" and ask yourself after he has admitted a few million, how do you stop them from coming south?
After you get that resolved, think about the Gulf of Mexico which is not a lot wider than the Mediterranean where the folks don't seem to have a real hard time flooding Europe. Just in case you forgot your 4th grade geography, a casual look at a map might show a coastline which includes LA, MS, AL and FL. Kinda long wall.
After that, might want to think about the Pacific and Atlantic seacoasts. Maybe even check the airports and ports of immigration.

Bottom line. Enforce the i*********n l*ws on the books and kick All i******s out on a daily basis.
We don't absolutely have to do any of this but if you want a country with any resemblance to the current US, you'd damn well consider it and soon.
