The answer to your question is that she was elected by the hoards of unvetted muslim refugees that Obama let in from Somalia, and resettled them in Dearborn and Detroit Mich. Ilya Omar is just spouting off what she's been saying all along to her audience in Dearborn and Detroit. Except that she's no longer just talking to the muslims where she lives, but to people all across the US.
She first apologized, then doubled down. And now she's insulting Trump and complaining of a double standard. Good! Keep pushing back.
