I received a message from someone that contains lots of photographs of Pearl Harbor in 1947 and the disaster wrought. I would like to forward this to any interested on OPP but I don't know how to copy the body of the message (with photos) and put an address on it so all can view it. Instructions would be tremendously appreciated as I am not terribly computer literate.

There may be another way that I am not aware of, but if it were me, I would copy each picture to my "Pictures" file, and then post them using the "file/pictures attachments" function under the "Reply to" window. To copy any pic from the internet, just place your cursor over it and RIGHT CLICK. On the drop-down menu, click on "Save picture as". Your Pictures file should appear with a place for you to name the picture. After you have named and saved it, you can then use the "Browse" function below the "Reply to" window to find it and attach it. Be sure to NOT hit the "Preview" button before you hit "Send", as the picture's file name will be erased and you will need to "Browse" for it again.

If anyone else knows of a better way, perhaps they will reply to you. Good luck!

That should work. Programs to make it easier but you have to know how to use that program. IrfanView has a thumbnail maker that takes less space making those pictures take less space on this web site.

I appreciate your response but there are so many of them, I would rather just include a site to be visited.

If they are all on one site (rather than an email attachment), you can copy the URL and paste it into your message. Do you know how to copy-and-paste a URL (the address at the top of your screen that starts with "http" )?

Thanks for your help but these photos were discovered just lately and were sent to a friend and then to me.

There are too many to copy into the OPP forum.

I did look into the site you found and, most probably the ones I have would not make an appreciable improvement. This is the message that came with the e-mail.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

These Pearl Harbor photos were found in an old Brownie Camera which had been

stored in a foot locker and just recently taken to be developed.

They are from a Sailor who was on the USS Quapaw ATF-110.

PEARL HARBOR – December 7th, 1941.

I thought I made it clear that these photos came in the body of a message. And I DO know how to copy and paste - been doing it for years.

Sorry but those photographs are genuine and do show the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. However, they were not found stored in a Kodak Box brownie camera nor were they taken by a sailor on the USS QUAPAW. In fact, the images are US Naval archive photographs taken by different people at various locations around Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack. The photographs form part of the historical image collection available on the Naval Historical Center website.

Sorry to disappoint you but the photos in the e-mail I received are not the same as in the site you recommended. I doubt if I would have done this type of research just for the fun of it.

I had no idea this would cause such a todo. Forget offering any help. I'll just keep them on my computer indefinitely. If anyone IS truly interested, they can send me their personal internet address and I will forward the entire message (including photos).

Alicia, The first URL I posted was just a bunch of photos on the web and the second was a site exposing the email you got as a h**x. The photos are real but the article is a crock. That email h**x has been going around for years.

Perhaps you've just gotten into the habit of demeaning posters on OPP. I interpreted it as an insult when you referred to my possible ignorance of such a simple process. You were not the only one. If you intention was only to be helpful, I apologize for my curtness.

Click on "My Pages" at the top where you logout, and you can create your own page there.
Through the Internet, when you find a photo you like- put your mouse over it and 'right click.' You will get a list of stuff, and choose 'Save As'. Click on that and it will save the picture in your picture library for your use to upload.
If you have photos of your own, scan them into your picture library, then they will be there for you to upload.

Each time you make a comment, you see the boxes below for 'File/picture attachments?' Click on 'Browse' and that will being up your library so you can choose a photo.
Click on your choice of photo, click open, and it will instantly upload right next to the 'Browse' you started with.
In the long rectangle box next to it on the left, you can name your photo.
After all this, Click Send, and you comment and photo(s) will appear. You can 'Preview' your work, before clicking on 'Send.'

I hope this makes sense, or eventually will. You can pm any of us to help.
I look forward to viewing your WWII page!

Thank you so much rhomin 57. It is very kind of you to offer the instructions. I copied and pasted the into a Word file so I will have them at my fingertips. If there weren't so many, I would just block, copy and paste them into a regular post but it would take too much space.

I will try doing a few photos as you recommended. If you will look for brmac32's post, you will see some of them. I believe he is running tests on this problem. So far, it looks good.
