We are already seeing a massive reduction in them. Believe it or not, contraception does work which is why there isn't a high school student in American who shouldn't know about contraception, where to buy it, and how to use it before they even go out the door. If they then decide to abstain then they have just used the best form of contraception of all!

I'm not sure if that's true, would have to look at the full numbers. I do know that NYC aborts more babies than are born there and that is truly disturbing.

This becomes complicated, life insurance companies routinely deny policies to smokers. I would be willing to bet that if they did the same for people who ate fast food or red meat business interests in those industries would be up in arms. There is little argument that beyond very small amounts food like ground beef and bacon is detrimental to your health. This being said it is pushed like dope by fast food chains and producers. There is little doubt that if fast food and ground beef was taxed and advertisements banned as with tobacco products Americans would live longer with fewer health problems and the cost of health care would drop.

You're not a vegetarian are you? lol Saying there is little argument that beyond very small amounts of ground beef and bacon is detrimental is utter nonsense.

Saying we should tax ground beef is straight out of the animal rights playbook.

There were approximately 1.31 million in 2000 and thats gone down to approximately 881,000 in 2017. Still far too many.

I got that from the Guttmacher Institute. Don't have a link, I just remember the numbers because they're so high.

Ahhh thank you and that number is still too high I agree. They really need to rethink their murderous policies.

https://www.guttmacher.org/fact-sheet/state-facts-about-a******n-new-york

The only result matching your criteria of site name and related to the topic. It does not support your claims as A.) it gives no numbers for the years you mention, B.) the number it gives are so far below the numbers you state that one would find it hard to believe the two conflicting numbers can possibly be related.

As a further note, the numbers stated in that article are STATEWIDE, not just in New York City, and still so far below your numbers for NYC alone that I can only say that your memory must be no better than mine.

I did find this that will perhaps shed light on the situation, it looks that the one updating the chart petered out and gave up on it likely during the year of 2017.

My mistake - I was not trying to mislead anyone. I should have mentioned those were nationwide figures. I assumed people would know that they couldn't be for NY because they're so high.

Agreed CD. Myself growing up in the 50's & 60's sex education wasn't even heard of back then. However, the 3 girlfriends I had during that period of my life practiced our own form of 'safe sex' and abstained from intercourse. We simply performed oral sex on each other, thus eliminating an unwanted pregnancy and an a******n. Ah, those were the days~~~

Ah, that sounds more reasonable. I thought that since the person you replied to was speaking on a******ns in New York City, I thought that was what you were speaking on. A simple case of a simple misunderstanding, I did think that number a******lly high which is why I did the research to be certain.
