I'm on blood thinners

Never heard of any food interfering with blood thinners.

I started taking blood thinners with the rat poison, Warfarin and a couple of years ago I was switched to Xarelto. Out of all the pills and potions I take daily, that one scares the crap out of me. I have accidentally bumped something and even though the bump was trivial, the point of impact started bleeding and it took hours to stanch. I have visions of turning the wrong way in bed and having my guts fill with blood from a minor unseen abrasion.

I take 325mg of aspirin every day and do fine hope I never have to take any of those the side effect are scary. I know how you feel though they had me taking Plavix after surgery and I scratched my arm and like you thought I would never get it to stop I stopped taking it I ended up getting a blood clot in front of the stint they had put in several months later another dr said if they removed it I would probably get another clot that some peoples body dont except them well so we just leave it. Aspirin does the same as the fancy pills but death isnt listed as a side effect. Though you do have to watch the stomach it can cause irritation and severe cases bleeding but I have been taking it for 14 years and haven't had a problem my blood is checked by my kidney Dr every 3 months. You have to be proactive in your medical care talk to your Dr. and tell him you uncomfortable taking that and you want to look at an alternative. Always check what they are giving you if your Dr doesn't want to discuss it and is unwilling to change get a 2nd opinion and maybe a different DR

Some foods have natural vitamin k which is what they use to thicken the blood when it gets to thin so you have to watch for those foods you can find a list on the internet if your dr hasnt given you one I don't worry about it I've never had a problem

Vitamin K is what the vet gave our Corgi pup when he ate a bar of rat poison many years ago.
It didn't work, and he had to have a blood t***sfusion.

Ole Doc Harbin was an amazing vet! The pup was all but dead when he called at 9:30 on a Saturday night to check on him. He told my wife to meet him at the clinic where he gave him blood taken from his own dog. When they got home an hour, and a half later, you would never know anything had happened. It was crazy!

My 46 year old brother in law takes blood thinners, and always has bruises from stuff that he doesn't even know he did.
Sometimes I wanna slap him, but I'm scared his whole head will turn purple if I do.

That blows the "eating fish is good for you" theory.

Maybe it's the stuff you sip?

Isn't that stuff aged in burnt barrels? Isn't burnt barrels a form of charcoal and carbon? He's getting too much dang tar in his system.

Red pepper, cayenne, directly in the cut will stop bleeding quickly and doesn't burn like in your mouth. Mike
