Dems on 'selective amnesia'

By Russell Berman - 05/11/14 02:14 PM EDT

The chairman of the new B******i select committee said Sunday that Democrats criticizing Republicans for fundraising off the panel have “selective amnesia,” pointing to their money pitches related to tragedies like the Sandy Hook shooting and Hurricane Katrina.

“They raise money on Sandy Hook. They raise money on Katrina. They raise money on Iraq and Afghanistan,” Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said on “Fox News Sunday.” “So for me, I will not raise money on B******i, just like I never raised money using crime victims when I was a prosecutor, and I’ve asked my colleagues to follow suit.

“But it would be helpful,” Gowdy added, “it would be helpful if our colleagues on other side of the aisle did not have selective amnesia when it comes to what is appropriate to raise money off of and what is not.”

Democrats have slammed the National Republican Congressional Committee for sending out a fundraising appeal mentioning the B******i panel that Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) moved to form last week. They have argued it supports their claims that the select committee is politically motivated.

Gowdy has repeatedly called for an end to fundraising on B******i, but Boehner dodged several questions last week when asked if he would do the same.

That's true, but they did not raise money on 9/11, any of the three Behruits, the Cole, or any of the other terrorist attacks on the U.S. They came together with repubs to strengthen our country. But it's ok. If you want to play that way, we will in the future. Assuming there is ever a repub president again.
The dems did not blame Bush for 9/11. According to you guys we were wrong. It was his fault, because he was president. So we should attack the Iraqis because Al Quieda attacked us.

B******i is an invented scandal anywhere but here and Fox news. These people should not continue to waste millions of taxpayer dollars to pursue something that has been investigated more than it should have been already.

So according to you Saddam was a good and benevolent leader who never attacked his neighbors or committed any atrocities against his own people?

When should Bush have drawn a line in the sand ?

No they just attacked everyone else, but yes it was a huge gamble for the Bush administration to have to do the right thing. Unfortunately we have made far to many stupid arrogant mistakes since then that has pretty negated all if the good it could have produced.

After being told repeatedly that they had WMD. some of our own people did not believe it, and the French and Germans both told us they did not.

I can push on a wall until I pass out but if the wall doesn't move I have done no work. All of the B******i "investigations" to date have had no useable information provided by the administration depute many legal requests for same. Does the word, "stonewall," mean anything to you? Susan Rice lied to the American people, 5 times. She knew she was lying, the White House told her to lie and THEY knew they were lying. The whole thing was a giant cover up of SOMEthing and that is what we're looking for. "Keep digging, Trey!"

I'm proud of Trey Gowdy.

We South Carolinians don't give up so easily. We're tenacious, fierce and ballsy enough to be the first to secede. You don't mess with the Palmetto state.

Maybe if answers and info were forthcoming quickly we would not need this committee.

They don't accept the answers that they get. The most recent thing about the e-mail seems to be ,," did the president want to say the event happened because of protests over a guy burning the Koran or it was a terrorist attack" . Big f$%&%ing deal. These i***ts want to waste more millions of dollars to figure this out. They've already had military officials say they had nothing close enough to stop the attack after it started. There is some debate over cuts to the military budget could have played a role, but both sides did that. There is also evidence the embassy itself turned down offers of increased security. All this is , Have you ever watched one of those ghost h****rs shows? If you haven't, what they do is , go in a house at night, use cameras that show their faces from a short distance with a light pointing up from below their chin, like my grandpa used to do at night by sneaking up and scaring us, it looks kind of spooky. Okay, now here's the key part . After entering the spooky house , after telling all the spooky stories and getting everything r****d with the cameras and lights, the lead guy stops suddenly and says, "Did you hear that". You don't really hear anything but now your curiosity is piqued. They go a little further , the guy stops again. " I felt something brush my arm". Of course it's a ghost so you can't see it. The fact is ,there is no ghost. The viewer is sucked in with some over dramatic acting and , if gullible enough, if they really, really want to believe it are convinced a ghost is there. So let's turn on our TVs, tune to Fox news and watch the ghost story.
