With all that has occurred this week it seems that the term 'F**e News' has once again grown in stature...

With members of both sides constantly bantering the term around one begins to wonder what exactly is meant by the term 'F**e News'...

I ask all members of the OPP to kindly provide their personal definitions... Perhaps, with a greater understanding of one another's positions, a general consensus could be reached as to what constitutes 'F**e News' ...

I dunno. To me, news should be factual and unbiased, as we were taught in journalism 101 back in the day. So I guess f**e news would be news that is NOT factual or unbiased, what used to be called "yellow journalism".

“f**e news” in English. f**e news noun [ U ] uk /ˌfeɪk ˈnjuːz/ /ˌfeɪk ˈnuːz/. . › false stories that appear to be news, spread on the internet or using other media, usually created to influence political views or as a joke: There is concern about the power of f**e news to affect e******n results.
---------------
F**e news is an inaccurate, sometimes sensationalistic report that is created to gain attention, mislead, deceive or damage a reputation. Unlike misinformation, which is inaccurate because a reporter has confused facts, f**e news is created with the intent to manipulate someone or something.
---------------

Can we agree on these two definitions?

I.E. - "BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate," said Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller's office.

Factual and unbiased have become difficult to find in today's political climate...

My friend.....

What happened to our New Year truce?
Has the olive branch been trod upon so soon?
Nay... Your response to my post is a declaration of friendship...

Propaganda may be true... In fact it is more effective that way

I think the key element here is "the intent to deceive or manipulate". Someone can be wrong about the facts, but when you intentionally manipulate, lie, or deceive, that to me is the essence of f**e news.

Friend Bob... Thank you...
I believe we discussed this very topic when first we began to build a dialogue/friendship...

Is it your contention that with the absence of Trump 'F**e News' would cease to exist?
