As usual, a succinct, factual rebuttal. ALL this is still the refusal to accept the results of the 2016 e******n. These corrupt beyond words Democrats have repeatedly v**ed for more than $5 billion for border wall/barrier funding, and are obstructing the will of the American people. New polls say that 93% of Americans know there is crisis at our Southern border, and they want a wall/barrier where the land will accommodate it, approximately 500-700 miles of the 2,000 mile border built to stem the tide of not only i******s who cross to the tune of 60,000 a month, but human trafficking, drugs, terrorists and disease. And the Democrats and their propaganda wing want to keep the government shut down, (has anyone missed these non-essential employees, is it possible it may become clear that they ARE non-essential and the government could do well by paring itself down?) and let the American people endure the crime and other negative results of an open border

You're right. The Progressives have probably already spent more than the wall or barrier or wh**ever it may be called would have cost. That just goes to show us that it isn't the money, it's just their stupidity and hatred for the man who beat their beloved C*******t, Hillary. Immigration is mostly legal and good, it is migration that is illegal and causing the problems. This barrier may not stop all the migration, but it should make enforcement of our "on the book already laws" easier by slowing it down, at least on the Southern border, which would be a good start.
Yes, some of us have given thought to the term "non-essential" government personnel. At one time I worked for the Federal government, and I have gone through several "shutdowns" with little to show for any of them. These shutdowns are a purely political ploy for 'show and b***h,' and generally the only things that get shut down are operations that are carefully chosen to piss off civilians who have made plans to use some park or visit some government office or monument, things of no real importance, they just wish to stir the h**e and discontent pot. Unfortunately, I was always considered "essential" and never benefited from the short "vacation" they called a furlough.
IMHO, if you are considered "non-essential" you are in an excess or unnecessary position and shouldn't have been hired in the first place. If the government would follow the Constitutional guidelines and not continually engage in unconstitutional programs to "benefit" the so-called poor people that the Progressives claim they're trying to help so they will get them to v**e for Democratic candidates and policies, the "non-essentials" would have been the "unnecessaries" and would not have been hired. The sad part is that these Rubes have been v****g for Democrats for years, believing they will be better off, and they are still poor!
The government has way, way, way too many managers and should make these managers do the unconstitutional work themselves rather than delegate it to the "non-essentials," if in fact the program was instigated in spite of going against the Constitution. However, that's what the Progressives do, damn the Constitution, full speed ahead - - spend! spend! spend! Probably the worst mistake "We The People" ever made was allowing the creation of the first "career politician!"
Our country is now in various stages of hysteria, and it is a damned shame "We The People" have to have a lawyer to really figure out if we are breaking one or more of the vast, vast number of laws these "career politicians" in Congress feel they must write into our legal system in order to justify their jobs and benefit their more wealthy constituents! Willie Sutton once said he robbed banks because that's where the money is; career politicians go to Washington, DC for the same reason, only they use laws to rob us rather than guns. One can't get up in the morning and face the world without breaking some law somewhere! I view lawbreakers, or outlaws, every day just by driving down the street in my car - - they run stop signs, speed, make illegal U-turns, drive intoxicated, text while driving, and so forth, and that's just within the first few miles of the trip! We are a country of outlaws, and if the Progressives have their way and banish the First and Second Amendments, only outlaws will speak out and/or carry guns, and everyone except the wealthy Elites controlling the country will work for the government! We're rapidly working toward becoming the "Brave New World" that Aldous Huxley wrote about with all its Tyrannical Socialistic Utopian lifestyle, unlimited random sex, no family responsibilities, brainwashed education, and the euphoria of Soma pills to keep us all fat, dumb, and happy while we s***e for the common good and the support of our Elite masters, from a test tube birth to a Soylent Green recycle!
The famous philosopher of Roman times, Cicero, probably said it the best back in the first century: "The evil was ... the willingness of the people to sell their rights as free men for full bellies and the excitement of games." That was the cause of the fall of the Roman Empire, and if you look around this country you'll see the obesity problem, the full bellies, and the hysterical excitement the people have for a simple football game, baseball game, or other professional sports events, or even gambling at the casinos, that many times even overwhelms the duties and obligations of family responsibilities. If it feels good, do it! I believe that history is about to repeat itself if we can't get the Progressive movement stopped. All this crap isn't something new, and socialism has always failed; one would think we would learn eventually, and maybe someday we will, but human nature is pretty predictable, and we haven't learned yet.
