There's a new Gang in town! Tell your Senators and Pres. Trump NOT to trade amnesty for enforcement
Dear activist,
The partial government shutdown is almost at the one-month mark, and in an attempt to break the impasse, the Washington Examiner is reporting that a new Senate Gang has formed -- a Gang of 20 bipartisan Senators working on an immigration deal that would likely trade amnesty for enforcement-only.
According to the Examiner:
The new "gang" consists of 20 percent of the Senate and is hoping to find some kind of answer on immigration that allows the government shutdown to end. Getting there will likely involve some agreement to fund a border wall, a demand of President Trump's, and some kind of tradeoff that Democrats can support.
Last week, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), along with a group of Republican Senators and two White House officials, floated a proposal that would trade a DACA amnesty for border wall funding.
Thanks to the tens of thousands of NumbersUSA activists across the country who immediately took action, that proposal was rejected by Pres. Trump.
We need your immediate action again!
Here's what you can do . . .
1) Call your U.S. Senators
Please call your two U.S. Senators and tell them that you support Pres. Trump's $5.7 billion request for additional border security, but you oppose any proposal that trades amnesty for enforcement-only.
There are two ways you can call. One, call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Senators' offices. When the Senator's staff answers, tell the staffer that you support the President's border security plan, but oppose trading it for amnesty.
