Coverage over here varies... There are many private insurance firms (all foreigners working in China must have coverage) but it is optional... The government heavily subsidizes healthcare , and provides coverage for their employees... It is affordable for most people, but the care available in rural areas is not great... There are a number of procedures and medications that are provided free (just last year 36 new medications were added to the list)..

Hospitals are busy... But there is an entry fee just to see a doctor (1-5 dollars depending on location and department)... Doctors are extremely busy... Sometimes lines may include as many as fifty individuals...

Life expectancy is a major issue here... Better health care and stricter environmental laws have resulted in people living considerably longer... They elderly do get benefits, but there is still the expectation for the young to take care of the elderly (the have several filial laws that force children to provide for parents... There is an interesting story in the papers about a woman suing a son, who she gave up for adoption at birth, for medical expenses)

There are both Western medicine clinics and TCM clinics... They are free to choose where they seek care... Most Chinese, but especially the older generation, prefer a TCM approach that focuses more on prevention and strengthening of the i****e s****m... Western medicine is reserved for serious illnesses and emergencies... They are also more concerned about what they put in their bodies and getting a proper amount of exercise (once again mostly the older generation)...
Many keep a cistern of medicinal alcohol in the house... And I have seen Doctors recommend smoking for stress related disorders... Followed by weaning them off of the cigarettes and teaching healthier methods of stress relief...

Concerning Homo Sapiens I would divide us into several sub-groups...
Homo Liberalus and Homo Progressivus
Homo Conservatus and Homo Rednechus
Homo ABC'sus (they might breed themselves out of existence)
Homo Snowflakian (not sure they have figured out how to breed without being triggered)
And everyone's favorite...
Homo Politicus (they may be a result of regressive genes)

I figure one day we will be extinct and whoever comes after us will have a fun time trying to figure out what most of our trash was for...

My pup is feeling frisky again... Running around the living***m playing with my princess... Aren't paink**lers super..

Unfortunate!!! Primary Care physicians typically tied to the insurance company that basically “ employs them..” HMO policies vs PPO which affords broader coverage allowing you to treat with whomever not needing that referral.. If you stay within the Dr’s on their plan..

The natural attrition and eminent death always a concern..Death panels??? Denied but I am not convinced it doesn’t exist..How many countries are over populated now?? What better way to help elimination ???

We just passed right to die statutes where if two doctors confirm the diagnosis of an illness eith resulting death they allow assisted physican care to end that life rather than suffer until they die... Humane death with dignity..
Colorado becomes the sixth state to have a so-called “right-to-die law,” joining Washington, Oregon, California, Vermont, and Montana..

Its a very private blessing to me..My heart mourns for their passing while I also rejoice in knowing it is a humane decision of the patient, the only one that can make that decision..

The upside down one you may Thank my son, he’s always ready to do something a little different....My joy comes from him no doubt..Much like his father whom passed suddenly at the rip old age of .46 a few years ago..

Anyway, My son comes over often to help me with wh**ever.. Food too!! Lolol
