I'm sorry Peewee, but we share no common ground and you share no common ground with most of your Protestant brethren too. When each man becomes an expert unto himself he becomes his own island and his own religion.

That shows your lack of understanding of Christianity.

Do you share the belief with Peewee that baptism isn't necessary? That it's baptism that makes one a child of God by adoption? That scripture is not clear on the necessity of baptism? I don't intend to engage in any fruitless conversation with people in this much grievous error.

It would appear by the scriptures that when Christ was crucified that he told the thief on the cross next to him that today thou shalt be with me in paradise would indicate that in that incident baptism was not required. The other examples are in the book of Acts where they were telling I believe that it was the centurion about Christ that the Holy Spirit fell on those in attendance and they began to speak in other tongues although they did get baptized shortly thereafter. I believe that there are other instances where the Holy Spirit fell on the believers after they believed but before they were baptized. So the indications are that one could be saved and receive the Holy Spirit before baptism so there is a strong suggestion that that is true. I would say that with the availability of water in America that baptism should not be a problem here in America even in winter. Plus there are other churches that would allow you to use their baptistery if needed so you wouldn't have to wait until summertime.

Baptism is not necessary for salvation but it is an act of obedience.

I do not care what you think or what you believe. To my satisfaction you have shown no credibility, no Christian charity, no scholarship, nothing but arrogance, opinion and a mind hopelessly trapped in error. I am content in allowing you that free will choice, do the same for me and others. Once again, I do not care what you believe. Do you need this statement chipped in stone?

If you didn't care you'd never bother to respond. You're being convicted and fighting it hence the ongoing churlish responses. In your heart you know you are following a false doctrine but your p***e won't let you let it go. Let it go.

Yes, we disagree, so what? I don't make stuff up, I read what others have written and I don't pick and choose like I'm ordering off a menu and go with what I want. I study the scriptures the best I know how and read what others have written. I always go with what makes the best sense and fits with the chapter before and after what I'm studying. I've had to correct my thinking many times over the years as I learn more. I'm not dogmatic. I've read the same verses all my life and suddenly something clicks and I learn something new. This new testament verse goes with something in the old testament and my understanding grows. I learn from others, I argue with myself, I ask the Spirit to help me understand. But I'm grown now and I feed myself meat, I don't need someone to feed me milk any longer, but I never stop learning.

I'm no expert, never claimed to be. But I'm studying for my final exam and no one can take the test for me. I don't have a scapegoat. I just don't believe any denomination has all the answers. God isn't going to judge me for my Bible knowledge, He's going to judge me on what I did about Jesus and if I was obedient.

Sorry if it upsets you and others but I can defend my belief with scriptures. The Dead Sea Scrolls that have been t***slated and that I've been able to read have led me to believe I'm on the right track. The church according to scripture are people who were considered righteous in the OT and who have accepted Jesus in the NT. No denomination or leader can save my soul, only Jesus. The only one who can send my soul to hell is me, by rejecting Jesus's free gift of salvation. He is the only one who ever lived, died, and rose again to save me and you and everyone if we believe in Him. When Jesus died on the cross the curtain in the temple was rent from top to the bottom, there is no longer a wall of separation between God and man. Jesus defeated Satan at the cross. Jesus is my three in one, He is my God, my high priest, and my salvation. I'm never going to be perfect as long as I live in this human shell, but I'm betting my soul that I'm saved by the shed blood of Jesus. The only perfect sacrifice for sin and the only one worthy of opening the scroll in Revelation.

If we disagree, we disagree. Doesn't mean we can't be friends or can't get along. You can't save me or send me to hell and I can't save you or send you to hell. But I reserve the right to call out anyone who twist the scriptures to say something they don't say. No writings are higher than the God-breathed scriptures. They are pretty easy to understand if read like a book but after a lifetime of study, I can assure you there are more levels than you can explore in a lifetime in the Bible and I've only scratched the surface after reading it for about fifty years.

Double standards are never over for the left. The left can say the most vile, d********g things imaginable, including inciting violence, and then say gee I'm sorry, that's not me, and all is excused and forgotten. Anyone else, even innocuous remarks that are misinterpreted are sources for ever lasting condemnation. Hart is right to say enough.

Of course. Regardless of everything happening in our world God is in His heavens and therefore all is well.

I am in my late 60s. My mother used to tell me about a preacher she used to listen to on the radio when she was young. He was out of Texas. He always closed his show with "God is on the throne, and prayer changes things", still true
