It's simple for me: As all other branches are receiving their pay, the Coast Guard should, also.

So far government employees have missed ONE paycheck. And Congress has already passed legislation that will ensure they get their back pay. Talk about l*****t fear mongering.

The United States Coast Guard, the smallest of all the U.S. military branches, was originally established as the Revenue Cutter Service in 1790. In 1915, it was reformed as the United States Coast Guard, under the Treasury Department. In 1967, the Coast Guard was t***sferred to the Department of T***sportation. Legislation passed in 2002 t***sferred the Coast Guard to the Department of Homeland Security.
In peacetime, the Coast Guard is primarily concerned with law enforcement, boating safety, sea rescue, and i*****l i*********n control. However, the president can t***sfer part or all of the Coast Guard to the Department of the Navy in times of conflict.
The Coast Guard consists of ships, boats, aircraft and shore stations that conduct a variety of missions. It is also supported by the Coast Guard Reserves, and a volunteer Coast Guard Auxiliary in times of need.
The Coast Guard is commanded by a four-star admiral, known as the Coast Guard Commandant.

The big advantage of the shutdown is that if they are not there they can’t screw up the county any more than it is. Now, if we could only do the same with the democrats in office, but I dream.

The founders actually built gridlock into the system. They knew how power hungry governments can be, and tried to make it as hard as possible to interfere with American citizen's lives

Sadly our Constitution was built on the honor system, it worked remarkably well for a long time. Since the left took control of our educational system, our cultural development, and the entire Democrat Party, there is no longer any honor, there is only the end justifying the means, and the "fundamental t***sformation" promised by Obama is fighting to end our constitutional guarantees of individual liberties and freedom of speech. I guess we will all have to wait and see if the left gets away with the worst corruption and abuse of power scheme in American history.
