If you recall, Jews were issued passports in exchange for everything they owned.... and those passports were specifically to travel to Israel.. not without motives on the part of Arabs (Muslims) and Hitler. But, yes even the boat load that landed in the US had passports... asylum seekers sent back to Germany to die in Concentration camps. All Jews were obliged to carry identity cards that indicated their Jewish heritage, and, in the autumn of 1938, all Jewish passports were stamped with an identifying letter “J.”
But, this thread is not about 1939, it is about 2019...
