He should have been fired and not given the chance to resign.

You do realize that that would have been a huge mistake?

Ever hear of giving someone who can't control themselves extra rope...to hang themselves with?

Mueller will do what he's doing, his findings will be reported (to the house and likely the public)

Any attempts to strategically hamper him will be taken to the house oversight committees. The white house will want to and try to act in secrecy but that will be harder without having republicans in the house running cover.

By the way, catch the news about what Manafort's i***t attorneys filed in an unredacted state? That Manafort shared GOP polling information directly with the Kremlin is a pretty big deal.
