Maybe, but it would slow them down and that would give time to dispatch border patrol or a drone to track them until the BP caught up to them. Eventually, the flood becomes a stream and the stream a trickle. You do know that Mexico is closing their southern border, don't you?

You realize, of course, that the wall already constructed works or at least the Border Patrol says it does. But according to Pelosi and Schumer sitting on their rusty red rectums in Washington it doesn't work and you believe them.

Everyone is in favor of protecting our borders....EXCEPT Trump. His only interest in a Big Beautiful Border Wall paid for by Mexico is to show his base he can keep a ridiculous campaign promise that even he knew at the time could not happen. He conned his dopey followers. Mexico said NO. The border patrol says NO. Most of the American people say NO. All Democratic legislators say NO. It is only the Republican legislators who are afraid to say NO. Time will tell if the unpaid workers with break their fear or the House majority will overcome their resistance.

What kind of bulls**t are you trying to throw? Trump said he would go with steel or fencing, along with technology. Pelosi said no way. Do you make things up as you write? Do you follow the news, and I don’t mean CNN or MSNBC. Try OAN No slants, only news.

Would you take your lame excuses and put them where the sun doesn’t shine. So airplanes fly high so we shouldn’t have a land barrier. Do you leave your doors open?

If you can find fault with the following, you must be a prime pupil of Pelosi, who in her rebuttable made very little sense.

Trump went on prime time television tonight to appeal directly to the American public regarding the border wall with Mexico and the partial government shutdown. A high point was his quote (paraphrased a bit) "They say a wall is immoral but why do wealthy politicians build a wall around their houses? It's not because they h**e the people on the outside, it's because they love the people on the inside."

He called the situation at the border a humanitarian crisis, providing such details that one of every three women is raped on the passage, and how children are used and abused by "coyotes" who herd i******s over the border.

Trump emphasized that his plan for the $5.7 billion was not only for the 'wall' (now a steel barrier, at the behest of Democrats), but for electronic detection measures and more border patrol personnel. His plan has been vetted by Border Patrol Agents (the final word in border security), and is what they want and need.

He noted that this is being paid for indirectly by the trade deal with Mexico, referring to recent renegotiations of the NAFTA agreement that have gone in America's favor.

Trump went on to mention that Democrats have been in favor of a wall in the past, and changed their mind only after he was elected President. He has invited them to a 45 minute meeting at the White House tomorrow and hopes that they can "rise above partisan politics."

In closing, he said this was a "choice between right and wrong, between justice and injustice" and called upon everyone to contact their Representatives and Senators.

I thought the speech was spot-on.

Pelosi and Schumer, on the other hand, looked pretty pathetic during their little follow up talk.

If "progressive" dominated social media is anything to judge by, that pair of clowns apparently became the butt of a lot of jokes, being compared with the couple in American Gothic, the Addams Family, various other fun things.

Consensus in certain circles is that they would have been better off staying home.

His speech was a rerun of his campaign promise. Consensus in wider circles is that an insane president should not be allowed to abuse his powers by shutting down the Government and not paying government workers.

That wider consensus factor you quote as factual is imaginary and most of them have flat foreheads.

So far as feeling any effects of a government shutdown I haven't noticed a single thing and this fact alone makes me consider whether we need all those government employees. Isn't the Federal Government still the largest employer in America?

You might start to notice when social security checks do not arrive on schedule. Is your forehead flat?

Won't affect S.S. Checks and many others too. I suspect your own forehead has a fancy tablecloth and can seat six adults and a 10 course meal. But I might be wrong. Might well be 8 adults and a 12 course meal. Here's a free tip to round off your forehead and give you some balance. Think before you speak, check your facts and then stay away from the MSM. They will mislead you!

Talk to Pelosi and Schumer about it, the shutdown is 100% the Democrats' property.

Why should Trump put his signature on something he disagrees with?

Given the relatively small amount of money Trump wants for the wall and the quantities of money Dems throw at everything else, only a true moron would believe this refusal to fund the wall is anything but childish politics.

So yeah, stop sniffing around Trump and go ask Pelosi and Schumer, why don't you?

Trump cannot defend his position to waste tax payer dollars on a wall to be built somewhere along the southern border, sometime in the future out of some unnamed material. Everyone knows a wall will not solve today's immediate grave problem of border security. Trump cannot make a deal based on facts. He must resort to abusing his executive powers by withholding employees' pay. Trump sucks at deal making. (and most other things he has tried to accomplish)

By saying "everyone knows," you lose quite a bit of credibility, since there are even an increasing number of Congressional Democrats agreeing that we need the wall, and they're not only coming forward, they're also likely putting pressure on Pelosi and Schumer.

With the exceptionsof a lot of "progressives," most of America sees this as a Democrat shut- down. The problem on your end is that your fearless leaders are only in touch with the elitist "progressive" rich who, like them, are light years out of touch with the majority of Americans, who constitute the middle class.

They don't want a lot of doubletalk, they want a secure border and they want a wall.

One way or the other, President Trump is going to win this one, like he wins Everything Else® the left attempts to challenge him on.
