The shutdown started in December. Before the Democrats took over the House. Why didn't the Republicans give trump his wall? They could have, right? Trump started the shutdown and is trying to blame the Democrats for not giving in to his blackmail. The Republicans didn't give in either. Trump will not open the government until he has passed the date for the longest shutdown. He always wants the best, the longest, the greatest. Look for him to open the government on Monday and at the same time declare a National Emergency and take money from other departments for the wall funding. Now he says he didn't say that he would have Mexico pay for the wall.

Do you know how Congress works, if and when they do work? Bills have to go to the floor for hearings. If a bill were presented on its own merit it would be great, unfortunately bills are presented with other items attached. So if a Republican were to present a border wall bill a Democrat could say we will pass your bill if you attach this amnesty bill for 11 million i******s or DACA recipients or lets spend 5 billion to preserve the floppy eared three toed Pelosi rat. I guess you would rather have our elected officials representing i******s than protecting we the people, U.S. citizens! Until you are personally affected you can see the wall as a “monument”, those of us that love our country see it as protection.
