Not only a barrier to crime and unwanted immigrants, but the wall has become a symbol for the American right. The global left is against borders, preferring a one government world with Islam as the policing force and one standard of living throughout the world.

It's been two weeks. They will get back pay. They might have to not feed the dog so much for about a month. This shutdown is important. I know you don't see it, but it's all about border security..and I' all for that.

Government workers are overly compensated. My sympathies are not with them. Besides, they'll get paid anyway. And they are all corrupt enough to survive the shutdown. Soros will see to it.

The federal contract workers WILL NOT get back pay. In any case, workers missing one, maybe two, maybe three paychecks till Donnie caves or grants citizenship to the DACAs hurts. For some, catastrophically.
